🎉🎊El Carnaval de Sitges commemora els 50 anys de la recuperació de les rues al carrer. El 1976 Sitges recuperava les rues de Carnaval al carrer. Va ser el primer municipi català en tornar a treure les rues de manera organitzada després del franquisme, tot i que Prado i Retiro havien mantingut, de manera clandestina alguns dels actes dins les mateixes entitats. Ja s’ha presentat el programa i el cartell, obra de l’artista Lídia Estany, amb el xató com a protagonista, però també el fardo i la ploma. El Carnaval 2026 aposta per millorar l’espectacle amb millor so i il·luminació, música per amenitzar l’espera del pas de les rues i actes durant tota la setmana més enllà de les rues. El Carnaval cada vegada amplia més l’oferta amb propostes com la rua d’Antes de divendres, que enguany canvia de recorregut i acabarà al passeig, o Dissabte de Fardo, amb la Cursa de llits com a plat fort, o el Ball del Fardo; aquest any el que organitza l’Ajuntament es farà al passeig i el de Barraques a plaça Catalunya, al poble sec. El municipi preveu una afluència de 250.000 persones al llarg de la setmana de Carnaval: enguany 38 carrosses de Prado, Retiro i Independents lluiran als carrers de Sitges amb la participació de més de dues mil persones disfressades.
