Last night we put 60+ founders and investors in an arcade and told them to go play. No hotel ballroom. No awkward small talk. Just Skee-Ball, Pop-A-Shot, and Mortal Kombat, with curated 1-on-1 pairings between founders and the investors we thought they should know. The best relationships don't start in a conference room. They start when you're trash-talking someone over a Skee-Ball lane and realize you're both obsessed with the same problem. We wanted to build that moment on purpose. It worked. Less than 24 hours later, pairings are already scheduling follow-ups: investment explorations, partnership conversations, intros that wouldn't have happened in a traditional format. At Atlantis Capital, we keep coming back to the same belief: Chicago doesn't have a talent problem or a capital problem. It has a connection problem. Building Bridges is one way we're working to fix it. This was our first one. It won't be the last. If you're a founder or investor who wants to be in the room next time, DM us. Huge thanks to J.P. Morgan for sponsoring the evening and for their continued commitment to the Midwest ecosystem. Their team showed up with real energy and helped make the night what it was. And thank you to every founder and investor who competed, connected, and made it a night to remember.

claude cowork is making me think maybe we’ll look back and it’ll be obvious that humans were never meant to spend their lives working behind a screen. we’ll see it as inevitable that computers do everything for us on computers and the future of work is cooler than we can imagine

Only a few spots left! Your next portfolio company isn't going to come from a cold email. It's going to come from a game of Pac-Man or Pinball. On March 31, our team at Atlantis Capital will be partnering with J.P. Morgan to host Building Bridges in Chicago. 50+ founders and investors are already paired up and competing head-to-head on arcade games. Space is limited, and attendance is by application only. Hope to see you there! luma.com/z038oj96

DoorDash is laying the groundwork for a crazy move here. Agents will be able to 'hire' humans to do tasks for them in the real world. And this will collect insane amounts of training data for robotics. Kind of genius, kind of terrifying.
Andy Fang@andyfang

Introducing Dasher Tasks Dashers can now get paid to do general tasks. We think this will be huge for building the frontier of physical intelligence. Look forward to seeing where this goes!

If You're an Entrepreneur: Stop designing businesses for 2024 scarcity. Design for 2030 abundance. Assume intelligence is free, energy is unlimited, and robotic labor costs pennies per hour. What becomes possible that's impossible today?

@kevinrose Agreed! I think biggest opportunity for true defensibility is physical hardware. The convergence of hardware and AI-driven software will be a massive unlock for society. Big question I’m trying to answer is “who’s going to help gather all that real-world training data?”

Five years out, when billions of coding agents exist, software development will be largely solved. The traditional moat of “we have better engineers” disappears. Products will be copied, improved, and open-sourced almost instantly. Defensibility will shift away from code itself, toward distribution, data, brand, and community.

🚨250K Trading Challenge Begins🚨. @JohnLoc18 gave me an idea.💡He’s turned $300 into over 200K trading only $SPY options since late last year. I’ve followed his trades, they are all legit. I’ve never attempted something like this in over 3 decades of trading but thought it would be fun! Can I turn $300 into 250K by July 4? 🇺🇸🎆 Yesterday I bought one $688 $SPY put contract for $316. I sold it at the open for $13. $316 is now $1300. I’ll be sharing this challenge with entry & exits as I attempt to turn $300 to $250K by July 4, our nation’s 250th birthday! Follow along for the fun.☺️🎂🇺🇸

Some VCs are quitting their own funds. The ones we met in Miami told us why. They couldn't keep writing checks into companies they didn't believe in. Deploying capital to satisfy LP pressure. Rushing founders into bad decisions. The incentives broke the mission. Then came the line that hit harder. Founders left Chicago for Miami because they found more support at the pre-seed stage. Not more capital. More support. The kind that shows up before you hit $1M in revenue. Miami's startup scene is warm, open, and collaborative. People leading with curiosity, not transactions. Communities built on passion first. Capital starts ecosystems. People sustain them. That's the culture we're working to bring more of to Chicago. If you are a founder who's been told you're too early or an investor who wants access to Chicago's pre-seed landscape? DM me. Thanks to Gozel Akeyeva, Lena Levine and @evovcstartups @miamiaihub, @eMergeAmericas for two great nights and many more for exactly the kinds of conversations that make the trip worth it.
