Updates on the Stabilization Center in DC: Another case for 24/7 harm reduction centers. We need all the support we can get, meaning that we still need safe consumption services that intentionally & effectively serve polysubstance users and people who use opioids and/or crack.

I carry a deep sadness within me that most people worth knowing intimately share. It’s not a therapy fix; it just is. A friend described it recently as a feeling of Othering that creates its own sense of identity and belonging. But lately I want out. From it, from this body.

@misterAmos right...the narrative is always centered around "viable" beings...as if that's even a valid category. from the political lens, that someone only "matters" when they've gone to the other side...whether that be death or recovery.

The drug war was never about drugs. It was about demonizing communities of color, stopping hippies from criticizing the Vietnam War, and having extra leverage for foreign interventions in Latin America. The government lied to you. Drugs aren't the problem.

People who criticize decriminalization assume that everyone who uses drugs gets arrested. Nope. Law enforcement simply uses our drug laws to arrest people they have already targeted. Drugs are de facto decriminalized for white, middle-class, housed, employed, privileged ppl.
