@CBKimbrell If you’re strictly trying to make a living farming then look up Licking County Ohio and the industrial boom that is gobbling up acres here. If your a generational farm that owns land and aren’t married to it your getting filthy rich here.

@blakeohare98 Two NAT posts I saved from when I was shopping for mine. Love mine so far… ‘20 with 2,800 hours now. It’s a beast compared to 4730.

A detailed write up on the negatives of CAFOs as it sits today. Do livestock emit more or less greenhouse gas when raised outside of a CAFO system? I agree where improvements can be made for pollution prevention, but I’m struggling to see where no CAFOs can be come a reality.

Haven’t had high beams on the 8300 for quite some time. Can buy the whole assembly from mother Deere for $500+ or you can get a $3 DC1 switch from eBay and change it yourself. God bless Internet forums and guys who share their tips and tricks.

Farm Talk Friday: Who's name should this combine be in? Husband? Wife? Joint? Met w/3 couples this week who each owned all the machinery as Joint assets. However, each said Wife would likely sell machinery if she lost Husband. In this case, I'd argue put all in Husbands name to get step-up in basis on 100% of machinery. Surviving spouse can then sell it tax-free.

@mdowney_78 Equipment entity, percent owners. Life insurance policies both ways with clear Op. and Buy-Sell. Buy out partner with insurance proceeds. New partner can enter or business or assets liquidated accordingly. Liability separation.

@gavin_spoor My vote is for twin row 30’s. 7.5 inches between bean rows leaves 22.5 inches so can ground rig fungicides yields like 15”.

You can only have one. 16 row. 2,000 acres corn/beans. 90% Notill. Lots of broad base terraces, and lots of road travel. Would like to have liquid on the planter but it’s not a dealbreaker. I’ll be doing 30” corn. Has anyone regretted going to 30” beans from 15”?

Next week should be the wrap up on soybean harvest for the majority of our area if the weather holds true. There’s literally no corn off yet. Last week of October and there’s no corn off. All too wet and green. Going to be a LONG CORN HARVEST
