I am totally confident that the police will be focusing on the most dangerous offenders (vehicle drivers) and not using this as an excuse to target cyclists and gig workers

No clip-in shoes. No spandex kit. Just a middle-aged guy in Blundtstones, with a laptop bag over my shoulder, on part of my daily trip to/from work. Because it’s faster than the bus. Because it’s cheaper than operating and parking a car. And yes, because it makes me feel good.

Forget the JD Vance jokes, furniture matters. The @BlueJays ripped out all the regular seats and replaced them with barcaloungers behind first base and all of us plebs seethe and resent that they are empty and the home base lady is gone. I even get mad at my @TD_Canada.

Water problems in the west are almost entirely a land use and water management problem. Ie, one couple, the Resnicks, managed to get control over a *public* water bank w/ back room deals and use as much water as the entire city of Los Angeles growing thirsty crops in the desert.

@copenhenken Thank you. American exceptionalism (we need to go faster! Farther! We’re heavier! It’s hillier! pedalling is hard!) means e-bikes here don’t play nice in the bike lanes and are scaring regular cyclists off the road. I e-bike (gazelle) and I am scared by these big Class 3 things.

E-bikes are a game changer, but not all e-bikes are really e-bikes. Let's recall the key criteria (in Europe):
- Engine supports only when pedals are being moved
- Max engine capacity 250 Watt
- Electric support stops at 25 km/h

#topoli Davenport & Shaw. Just watched 5 cyclists navigate this bottleneck which forces them into mixed traffic. It is absolutely possible for the contractor to park trailer closer to the sidewalk & create a pylon lane for cyclists. *Why wdn’t this be written into the contract?*

I liked the idea of an urban planner being on council, but Bradford, who voted for this stupid highway and worked at city hall, does nothing but campaign for Mayor. He is an embarrassment.

Councillor Bradford is questioning Mayor Chow on the Gardiner. “Why wasn’t this the original approach we brought forward?” Chow says the procurement for this work was done in 2022, prior to her time in office. Also before the New Deal, the city was very cost-constrained.

I asked my parents if we could FaceTime. My mom rightly assumed my daughter wanted to FaceTime them. My dad was panicking that our house had collapsed and I wanted to show him it over a scheduled FaceTime call.
