I am convinced there are just some folks in freight that just want truckers to suffer more. They will tell you that the compliance developments won’t be impactful. Then the market tightens. You ask them if it’s volume, they say no. Volumes are weak. Then what caused the capacity crunch? “Weather.” We are 6 weeks past weather and the capacity is at tight as it has been in years. It has to be the compliance crackdown wiping out capacity, or the goods economy is starting to ramp, potentially both. Regardless, some just don’t want truckers to have the upper hand.
