My open letter to Elon. If we want to win the AI race, we have to build the base layer DOGE style. Construction → Power → Compute → Automation

Coincidentally, these are the same odds of me becoming fabulously successful and sitting courtside! 😂

Perspective is this interesting thing … people can wake up everyday and be fearful, unhappy, anxious, check their bank account and 401k.. or they can wake up everyday thankful for life, opportunities, and the ability to make things happen. It’s all a matter of outlook & priorities. As you can see below, money has nothing to do with it I find the below (if accurate) … well, I just don’t understand it. Every single great thing in my life came out of something that was supposed to take me out of “the game”. Every single one! I believe the Lord uses uncertainty, delays, trials to do three things … 1. Give us new muscles … really to point out where we are lacking 2. Make sure our faith ONLY rests in Him 3. Give us a sense of gratitude (which is a super power by the way) Don’t be ANXIOUS. Take it to the maxx everyday with a sense of gratitude… and everything will be just fine

The vibes in SF feel pretty frenetic right now. The divide in outcomes is the worst I've ever seen. Over the last 5yrs, a group of ~10k people - employees at Anthropic, OpenAI, xAI, Nvidia, Meta TBD, founders - have hit retirement wealth of well above $20M (back of the envelope AI estimation). Everyone outside that group feels like they can work their well-paying (but <$500k) job for their whole life and never get there. Worse yet, layoffs are in full swing. Many software engineers feel like their life's skill is no longer useful. The day to day role of most jobs has changed overnight with AI. As a result, 1. The corporate ladder looks like the wrong building to climb. Everyone's trying to align with a new set of career "paths": should I be a founder? Is it too late to join Anthropic / OpenAI? should I get into AI? what company stock will 10x next? People are demanding higher salaries and switching jobs more and more. 2. There’s a deep malaise about work (and its future). Why even work at all for “peanuts”? Will my job even exist in a few years? Many feel helpless. You hear the “permanent underclass” conversation a lot, esp from young people. It's hard to focus on doing good work when you think "man, if I joined Anthropic 2yrs ago, I could retire" 3. The mid to late middle managers feel paralyzed. Many have families and don't feel like they have the energy or network to just "start a company". They don't particularly have any AI skills. They see the writing on the wall: middle management is being hollowed out in many companies. 4. The rich aren’t particularly happy either. No one is shedding tears for them (and rightfully so). But those who have "made it" experience a profound lack of purpose too. Some have gone from <$150k to >$50M in a few years with no ramp. It flips your life plans upside down. For some, comparison is the thief of joy. For some, they escape to NYC to "live life". For others still, they start companies "just cuz", often to win status points. They never imagined that by age 30, they'd be set. I once asked a post-economic founder friend why they didn't just sell the co and they said "and do what? right now, everyone wants to talk to me. if i sell, I will only have money." I understand that many reading this scoff at the champagne problems of the valley. Society is warped in this tech bubble. What is often well-off anywhere else in the world is bang average here. Unlike many other places, tenure, intelligence and hard work can be loosely correlated with outcomes in the Bay. Living through a societally transformative gold rush in that environment can be paralyzing. "Am I in the right place? Should I move? Is there time still left? Am I gonna make it?" It psychologically torments many who have moved here in search of "success". Ironically, a frequent side effect of this torment is to spin up the very products making everyone rich in hopes that you too can vibecode your path to economic enlightenment.

LIQUIDAITON NATION eow 4/17: Mongol General: "Conan! What is best in life?" Conan: "To crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women" Market was a complete pain machine this week as historic RE-GROSSING in the TAILS (another record) absolutely nuked people. Stairs down & elevators up are tough environments to mange risk in... especially when all headline driven. But here we are... right in the middle of LIQUIDATION NATION... where the tails are fatter and the violence is right out of a CONAN movie... What stood out to me this week? - SaaS stopped going down on AI headlines... feels... like regime trying to change ... TEAM outperformed SNDK for the week (all positioning) - AI COMPUTE + QUANTUM torch long/short this week - Crowded Longs (-900bp) vs Crowded Shorts... OUCH OUCH OUCH - Last but not least... retail has been more or less absent from this rally... could be TAX seasonal timing... but usually they are leading out the "V"... noted - how negative everyone is on OPUS 4.7 ... I think it is pretty good running it in 5th gear all day today..yes some bugs, but what do you expect? Watch the risk videos... ALL STAR guests and Risk Ep 5 coming next week. I have a major update coming for Liquidation Nation soon. Stay tuned. As always... weekend process...reflect.. analyze... adjust...move forward. Have a good weekend.

High-agency people seem to have this weird immunity to embarrassment. Getting rejected? Not embarrassing, that’s just data collection. Looking naive? Not embarrassing, that’s just information asymmetry you’re fixing. Breaking minor social rules? Not embarrassing, most rules are just Schelling points anyway. What would be embarrassing to them is not trying. That’s the thing they can’t live with.
Kpaxs@Kpaxs

High-agency people genuinely believe that reality is negotiable in a "there are always more levers to pull" way. It's about having this bone-deep conviction that if you keep poking at something from different angles, eventually something will give.

Humanity has advanced more in the past 2 months than the previous 100 years combined: • OpenClaw: greatest AI application ever • Opus 4.6: smartest AI model ever • Gemma 4: local super intelligence on a Mac Mini We have entered recursive self improvement. We were getting revolutionary technology every 10 years, then 5 years, then 1 year, then 6 months, now it's every month I have moved my timelines for the permanent underclass arrival to 6 months from now You have literally 1 job every morning when you wake up: find what the latest tech is and integrate it into your life immediately. These are the steps I'd do right now: 1. Get OpenClaw installed on ANY device (VPS is a scam). Have it automate 1 workflow you have 2. Build literally any application in Claude Code 3. Prepare for a world of local intelligence. Even if you are on the cheapest Mac Mini there is, you can install Gemma 4 and have a lightweight model running on your computer. This is the future 4. Ship ANYTHING to production. Literally ANYTHING. A small app, a course, a PDF, a service. ANYTHING. You need to be diversifying your income immediately. 5. Cut out all unnecessary vices. The singularity is coming. The light is before us. This is the time the devil works the hardest. Lock in as hard as you can. The only way to escape the permanent underclass is to be on the cutting edge Don't say I didn't give you the playbook
