BREAKING: The Chair of the House Oversight Committee admits that Republicans are considering a FULL PRESIDENTIAL PARDON for Jeffrey Epstein's right-hand woman Ghislaine Maxwell. I don’t speak for my committee," he said, stating that he doesn't like the idea because it "looks bad." “Honestly, other than Epstein, the worst person in this whole investigation is Maxwell," he added. The problem with pardoning Maxwell — who was sentenced to twenty years in prison for her central role in Epstein's horrific sex trafficking empire — is not that it "looks bad." It's that it would be one of the single worst miscarriages of justice in American history. Donald Trump is accused of rape and gross sexual misconduct in the Epstein files, and that's just in the documents that have been released. If he personally signs a pardon for Maxwell to testify, we can be absolutely certain that it will be with the understanding that she will falsely exonerate him. He won't pardon her if there's a chance that she might reveal his crimes. He'll be pardoning her to keep her mouth shut. Democrats are voicing adamant opposition to the pardon suggestion— “That would be a huge step backwards, and, quite frankly, so disrespectful to the survivors,” said Congressman Robert Garcia, the committee's ranking Democrat. “She is a known abuser. She is a known liar.” “If the DOJ or Oversight Republicans are out there trying to negotiate some sort of pardon that is … not only a huge slap in the face to this investigation, to anyone, to the American public,” he said. “It’s a part of a massive cover up.” Thus far, Maxwell has refused to provide the Oversight Committee with useful testimony about Epstein and his criminal enterprises. Her attorney has been pushing for a pardon and has stated that he believes that one will be forthcoming. The swirling discourse around a possible pardon is complicated by the news that Maxwell reportedly sent a mysterious USB drive to the Justice Department on April 16th, just days after Melania Trump gave a bizarre and unexpected press conference during which she sought to distance herself from Epstein. What could be on that USB? One long-discussed concern is that Maxwell might expose Democrats connected to Epstein, while covering up the role of Republicans and Trump himself. To be clear: the American people deserve to know every name in those files, regardless of political party. Every Democrat should be exposed, but so should every Republican. It certainly seems possible that Maxwell might implicate Trump's political enemies in exchange for a pardon, while simultaneously obfuscating his wrongdoing. This cannot be allowed to happen. Let's take a really deep look at this project as I happen to know a little bit about what's going on. As always, Mario is being misleading and deceptive. This is a legitimate public-private defence contract. He is intentionally omitting critical context, misrepresenting the deal's structure and purpose, and making a ridiculous comparison to SpaceX. The picture going around shows the site's current early-stage appearance. This is accurate. It's currently a gravel road, two sea cans, and a small concrete pad. While it is factually accurate as of right now, Mario weaponizes this snapshot to imply pure waste, fraud, or incompetence. The site is minimally developed right now, but the lease explicitly requires MLS to use the revenue to achieve Initial Operational Capability (IOC) for the dedicated DND pad by the end of 2026. This includes building out a launch control centre, payload integration/testing facilities, additional pads, power/roads/safety systems, etc. Mario's post treats the current bare-bones photo as the final product, ignoring that this is anchor-tenant funding to accelerate private development (MLS already had the land under a separate low-cost provincial lease). This is intentional and standard for commercial spaceports worldwide (e.g., many U.S. sites operate on leased private/government land). The model gives DND/CAF priority access to a dedicated pad at a multi-user site while MLS handles operations and expansion. The government gets sovereign launch capability without building/owning everything from scratch. Mario presents this as uniquely scandalous "leasing a field" instead of acknowledging it's a deliberate public-private partnership under Canada's Defence Industrial Strategy. Mario claims SpaceX "spent $200 million building Starbase" as a gotcha. Reality: SpaceX has invested billions into Starbase over years. The physical building doesn't equate the investment. This is part of Canada's new Defence Industrial Strategy to reduce reliance on foreign (primarily U.S.) providers for critical satellites/payloads. It positions Nova Scotia as a launch hub, creates Canadian jobs as 90 percent of all spending must be domestic. It's a cherry-picked "gravel pad = government blows" meme designed for engagement and rage bait by stripping away the lease terms, development obligations, domestic spending rules, paired rocket program, and national security rationale. Mario blows, and is intentionally deceiving people for clicks and monetization.

Let that sink in, and let’s be clear about who Pete Hegseth actually is. A former weekend TV host with no senior command experience, promoted over generals who spent decades in uniform. A man who faced documented allegations of drunkenness on the job. A man who ran details of a government war plan through an unclassified group chat and added a reporter to it by mistake. A man who, this week, quoted a monologue from Pulp Fiction at a Pentagon prayer service and passed it off as scripture. The job of a Defense Secretary is to keep Americans safe and tell them the truth. Not to play preacher or to cast reporters as villains in a Bible story while Americans are still in harm’s way. Not to dress up a controversial war in religious costume so nobody asks hard questions. All of this happened on the same week the President posted an AI image of himself in a Christ-like healing pose, then claimed he thought it was him as a doctor. You do not have to be a Christian to see this for what it is. Hegseth is a man without qualifications, managing a war poorly, using faith as a shield. He is wholly unfit. He should have never been confirmed. He should resign.
