@nekosattva_chan @EpiggMoment agreed on the characters’ choices, values contrast is clear. but the ending hangs by a thread: by chance+a friend dragging Gosha back (he was pushed away by the success of her good choices). one beat off and it’s a tragedy. her choices earned her everything except a happy ending

@lmpveo @EpiggMoment well no, the film is very clearly a moralistic tale about choices where tosya made the best choices and lyuda didn't. and everyone "kinda appears" in life (as opposed to being summoned through magic?), obviously the choice is what you do after you meet them.

this is like the Soviet "sleepless in Seattle;" I think western audiences grossly misunderstand it and look at the women with condescension and pity instead.
