Personal update: I've joined Anthropic. I think the next few years at the frontier of LLMs will be especially formative. I am very excited to join the team here and get back to R&D. I remain deeply passionate about education and plan to resume my work on it in time.

Tu peux avoir toutes les compétences du monde. Si personne ne sait que tu existes, ces compétences dorment. C'est une réalité que beaucoup de très bons ingénieurs et consultants ont apprise à leurs dépens. Les opportunités ne tombent pas du ciel. Elles passent par des humains. Et les humains font confiance à ceux qu'ils connaissent. Mais attention à ce qu'on entend par "réseau". Le réseau ne se construit pas en distribuant des cartes de visite ou en envoyant des messages à des inconnus. Il se construit en produisant quelque chose que les gens veulent partager. En aidant sans calculer le retour. En étant présent dans les espaces où les décisions se prennent, pas pour te vendre, mais pour contribuer. La différence est énorme. Et voilà ce qu'on dit rarement: la compétence reste le fondement. Pas parce qu'elle suffit, mais parce que sans elle, le réseau s'effondre. Les portes s'ouvrent une fois. Ce qui fait qu'on te recommande encore et encore, c'est ce que les gens ont vécu en travaillant avec toi. Ta réputation est ton réseau le plus durable. Alors oui, sois excellent dans ton domaine. Mais rends cet excellence visible. Écris. Partage. Montre ton travail. Aide les autres à progresser. Le meilleur réseau n'est pas celui que tu construis en cherchant des opportunités. C'est celui qui se forme autour de toi parce que tu en crées pour les autres.

@localhost_droid @orange_sn @WaveSenegal Le problème est plus profond je pense grand. Dans nos contrées, la developer experience est trop négligée. DevRel, DevX, DevAdvocate, etc, je n'en ai jamais vu, à part les grosses boîtes qui ont des sections EMEA (mais ça compte pas). Tech culture problem? May be...😅
