To provide context on Darien Whitaker's early morning arrest on a failure to appear charge, it appears he was charged in March for speeding and didn’t have his registration or was driving with an expired tag. He didn’t appear to an April hearing. Not something we typically report on when it's something this minor. But wanted to provide some context to be fair to the guy.

K-State redshirt freshman linebacker Darien Whitaker Jr was included in this morning’s Riley County Police Department arrest report. He was arrested at 1:46 am Saturday morning for failure to appear. I’ve reached out to the school for comment @WIBWsports
