Ouroboros. I've earned the right to be candid. Hedonism to Asceticism. Pedantic verbose assholes everywhere. Escape velocity for depression and finance.

@chamath the "edge" in most cases is a mirage now... mag 10 has us all by the balls, carrot on a stick... their total discrepancy on how much trickles down and to whom. for most people the only real saving grace is to exit the game, build new communes to escape this circus.

In an early meeting at Facebook (c. 2007), when I was describing the goals of Facebook Platform (an area I oversaw) Bill Gates yelled at me/us. His quote has stuck with me to this day: “This isn’t a platform. A platform is where the collective sum of revenues of the participants exceeds those of the platform itself.” Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the tokenmaxxing circle jerk.

announcement: i want to fund founders attacking one ugly truth: most internal software only existed because coordination across mediocre human labor was expensive. agents don’t just automate the task. they collapse the reason the category existed. if you’re building where cheap intelligence deletes middle layers instead of adding another dashboard, i want to see it.

Omega and Swatch are part of the same house and as I said I bought the watch not to flip it more a add for the personal collection. What AP is thinking, I have no idea and the watch is a throw away disposable too. (Apparently some Glued mechanical parts) Exactly the opposite the opposite what AP stood for

Watched few podcasts with Audemars Piguet’s CEO Ilaria Resta. AP x Swatch collab seems to be about selling to women, which she says is AP’s most “underdeveloped” opportunity. Royal Pop can ride the Labubu keychain wave. Women are <20% of AP sales but clear trend for the demographic. She says 45% of women will own a mechanical watch by 2030. Growing interest in complications but current designs don’t fit the wrist well. AP working on watched with smaller dimensions. Resta took over as CEO in 2023 after spending past two decade building brands in beauty products (Firmenich) as well as hair products and homecare (P&G). One of her first moves was to stop classifying AP watches as either men’s or women’s. AP currently sells 50,000 watches a year and does ~$3B (compared to Rolex, which sells 1.2 million units a year and does $13B+ annual). Seems AP has room to increase supply without becoming too ubiquitous and tapping women’s market makes a ton of sense. *** Interview (2025): youtube.com/watch?v=0VEAom… CNBC with some watch stats: cnbc.com/2025/01/10/aud…

Joseph McMoneagle remote viewed Aliens on Mars: "They're like 10 feet tall, really huge, but they're proportionately the same and very human like. I think it's too late. I think they're all dead" 👽 During a classified remote viewing session under the CIA's Stargate Project, McMoneagle was woken in the middle of the night by his handler. He received an unmarked envelope with target coordinates and began describing what he perceived. A colossal pyramid stood on Mars from one million years BC. It was far larger than the Great Pyramid of Giza and contained vast internal rooms that defied all known structural physics because of the immense weight they would impose. Inside those chambers he sensed enormous humanoid figures in stasis. They appeared to be survivors of some planetary cataclysm, protected and waiting for rescue that never came. The impressions felt like leftover mental images rather than living presences. He noted the sun looked strangely different and that the beings were proportionally human despite their massive scale. Only after the session ended did the handler open the envelope. The target was confirmed as Mars, one million years BC. The descriptions later aligned with JPL imagery of the Red Planet. This account from Remote Viewer Number One, one of the program's most accurate and decorated participants, remains one of the most detailed claims to emerge from the declassified files. What do you make of these Stargate revelations? Could an advanced civilization have once existed on Mars, or does this stretch credulity too far?

i'm loving this new side project, war atlas, by @jtroll. it's an interactive cartography of every named war in human history. if you're a history buff that appreciates a great ui, you should definitely check this out. one of my favorite things about ai is that i now get to experience people's niche interests in the exact format they think is best. if the world is a museum of passion projects, we're about to get a million new amazing exhibits.

@nypost I agree that she is beautiful, but casting a Black woman to play a White woman in a foundational work of European literature is no more right than casting a White man to play Shaka Zulu!

Just a friendly warning. We don’t even make $200k per year in Congress despite working nearly 140 days. If we aren’t properly compensated, a lot of us will go to the private sector and you will be left with some real idiots in Congress.

SF feels like everyone is playing against one scoreboard: how much money do you raise / how big is your startup? NY feels more diverse in ideas and ambitions. There are startup founders, yes. But also artists, athletes, finance, service businesses, consumer apps, etc SF the city feels so boring there’s nothing to do but lock in and work. NY there’s always something happening. There’s an invisible momentum that pulls you forward.
