@lockmastah @dsc_nate @JB_Ratel @PaulTassi Justin Truman replaced him. I think his biggest claim to fame in bungie was his "over delivery" line. Parsons was definitely an issue at bungie based on reporting, but a lot of their management seems to be toxic, more than the normal corporate amount.

@soupbutreal @PaulTassi Sony spent $3.6 billion to buy Bungie and who knows how much more the past few years supporting the studio. They aren't going to greenlight D3 when the studio is just bleeding money at this point.

@PaulTassi Last bit of copium on my end: I wonder if the reaction this news and the lack of a Destiny 3 in development would maybe change Sonys mind on not greenlighting it

@JB_Ratel @PaulTassi Sony is cutting costs all over, I doubt Hermen cared about what Bungie would do as long as they cut costs. Bungie has a studio head (the overdelivery guy), that decision is probably on him.

Yeah, this is, unfortunately, where this was going I don't think the IP can be declared eternally dead, but this was never a put Destiny 2 down, pick Destiny 3 up and keep going situation. If D3 ever does happen they'd have to staff up significantly again

As far-fetched as it may be, the idea of rerunning old seasons with updated loot wasn’t half bad as a form of maintenance mode. Division did something like that. But yeah not gonna happen

Overall view: - Destiny 2 probably should have ended with Final Shape with Destiny 3 already incubating - If Destiny 2 was going to keep existing, it shouldn't have been what we got, which was badly handled - Marathon siphoned a ton of resources and there is no disputing that

@PaulTassi @Forbes The ending was a letdown, so much wasted time and potential. Why did the Gen V characters show up in the last 2 episodes only to do absolutely nothing? And Soldier Boy was thrown back in the chamber before the finale? I feel like the last 2 eps were totally rewritten.
