Elon Musk's ex-girlfriend Grimes once said he lives below the poverty line by choice. While dating the richest man alive, she watched him live like a broke college student. No house. No possessions. Same meals every day. Sleeping wherever the factory needed him that week. She said she once realized she hadn't seen him eat sitting down in three days. She said something that stuck with me. He doesn't experience pleasure from things. Not cars. Not houses. Not luxury. The only thing that produces visible joy is progress. A rocket landing. A production target hit. His face would change when a test succeeded in a way it never changed for anything else. Including her. This is why SpaceX sends a stuffed mascot named Asteroid to space. A normal CEO would think it's unprofessional. Musk does it because even a toy leaving Earth is progress. The mission includes everything. Even play. Most people work to fund comfort. The comfort becomes the point. The work becomes the cost. Musk eliminated the gap entirely. Every dollar, every hour goes to the mission. Nothing leaks. The thing you think you want is not the thing that makes you extraordinary. The willingness to stop wanting it is.

Happens here in Australia too, we bought a couple of steers recently and the seller told us he had people turn up in a Camry wanting to buy the steers and slaughter on his property, un-fucken-believable! Was thinking of selling live (Cow and calves), but this has put me off, will stick to selling in boxes.

@lockmck @CamCutApp My main concern is safety gap for semis being different than cars. I don’t think FSd knows that yet

FSD needs to be more mindful of semi trucks and give them extra space. FSD should be a defensive driver.  Edited with @CamCutApp. Go try it out!

Elon is such a rockstar man. Just dropped a prospectus on the biggest IPO in history, got a fucking rocket launch tomorrow, and still made time to come to California do some of the final S & X deliveries.

Kevin O'Leary says most people waste $15,000 a year on stupid stuff like $5 coffees "Stop buying coffee for five dollars and fifty cents" "You go to work and you spend $15 bucks on a sandwich, what are you an idiot. It costs you 99 cents to make a sandwich at home and bring it with you" "Bring your own water, your own drink or your own coffee mug. You start to add that up every day it's a ton of money" "Most people starting on their job making their first $60,000 piss away about $15,000 a year"

Other things I just thought in favor of the decision FSD made, it apears the on-ramp is climbing therefore the truck will llikely not increase or even maintain speed when compare the vehicles in front. Also it apears the motorway (the on-ramp is joining) is relatively empty therefore there are escape options available to the car should any braking occur. Also knowledge of traffic flows on that particular stretch of road at that time of day would also likely influence the call a human would make.

@edgecase411 @CamCutApp 'What happens if' can be applied to everything, as your video shows braking was not required so the right call was made, yes an aggressive call, but one I and most human drivers would make. I love that the conversation around FSD is getting to this level nuance.

Here's what the fake V8 engine/revving noises sound like in the new all-electric Mercedes AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. Mercedes says the car makes “exhaust burbles and pops" like a gas car.
Sawyer Merritt@SawyerMerritt

Mercedes has just officially unveiled the production version of its all-electric AMG GT 4-Door Coupe. • Range: ~315 miles (EPA) • 1,153 hp • 0-60 mph: 2.0s • Peak charging speed: 600kW • 106 kWh battery • 10-80% state of charge as low as 11 mins. Can add 244 miles of range in 10 mins. • Formula 1-based 800-volt battery • Fake V8 engine noises & gear shift sounds (shown below) • Mercedes said it’s using 1,600 audio files to “sonically interpret” different driving situations. The car makes “exhaust burbles and pops" like as gas car. • Axial-flux motors (a first). Runs parallel to the motor’s axis of rotation. In a conventional electric motor, it runs perpendicular to the axis. The front axial flux motor reaches more than 15,000 rpm at top speed. • 2660 cylindrical cells stacked vertically, arrayed in 18 modules, nine to a side. Nickel-cobalt-manganese-aluminum chemistry. Energy density of 298 Wh/kg. • Active aerodynamics • Top speed: 186-mph • Double sunroof with illuminated AMG logos over both driver and passenger seats • Triple-screen layout. 10.2" digital instrument cluster alongside a pair of 14" screens. Infotainment display is slightly tilted toward the driver. • Optional 5 seat layout U.S. deliveries start in late 2026. Pricing will be announced later, but it's expected to be well over $100,000. @thejefflutz I don't get this, the more capable AI gets the more people use it, nearly everyone i know now uses AI daily, even those i never thought would touch it. So who is against this?

Ive had multiple Tesla's. I have never put a screen protector on. I honestly haven't seen the need for it. I wanted to ask others out there. Do you have a screen protector on your main screen? If so is it worth it?

@lockmck @JosephShook @60Minutes @wholemars Got it. The 60 Minutes segment compared two specific mapping vs. no-mapping approaches from Waymo and Wayve. Tesla wasn't part of that story, simple as that. If "losers" means something else, spell it out.

Two robotaxi companies are taking different approaches to training AI. Waymo builds a detailed 3D map to train its AI before operating in a new area, while Wayve trains its AI without mapping. cbsn.ws/49ariNI

@JosephShook @60Minutes @wholemars Yes, that's correct. The 60 Minutes report compares only Waymo (which builds detailed 3D maps) and Wayve (which trains its AI without maps). No mention or comparison of Tesla.
