The ruling uses multiple DoD officials’ statements against them. “The record evidence supports the conclusion that the Policy discriminates not based on political viewpoint but rather based on editorial viewpoint—that is, whether the individual or organization is willing to publish only stories that are favorable to or spoon-fed by Department leadership. See, e.g., (Ms. Wilson praising the new PFAC holders for being “on board and willing to serve our commander in chief”). As counsel for the plaintiffs put it at oral argument, the difference between the prior and current PFAC holders is their viewpoint on “the nature of the role of the journalists covering the Pentagon.” OA Tr. at 16-17. In sum, the undisputed evidence reflects the Policy’s true purpose and practical effect: to weed out disfavored journalists—those who were not, in the Department’s view, “on board and willing to serve,” SUMF at 16 (¶ 91)—and replace them with news entities that are. That is viewpoint discrimination, full stop.”

BREAKING: A federal judge ruled in favor of the New York Times, finding that the Pentagon's press policy violated its First and Fifth Amendment rights, and that of reporter Julian E. Barnes:

This is something that always bothered me about Trump. I had voted for him and was therefore part of the faction he was trying to appease, but I found it pretty shocking & off putting that he literally only cared about the people who voted for him. No one really talks about this, but this is not normal and shouldn't be acceptable. He openly despises half the country he leads.
Gregg Nunziata@greggnunziata

Again, Trump's greatest failing is his inability to understand he leads a country, not just a faction

Western carmakers are retreating from EVs just as oil hits $100 a barrel. The parallels with Detroit in the 1980s are striking. They ignored fuel-efficient Japanese cars. Now they’re ignoring Chinese EVs. BYD just unveiled 600-mile range and 250 miles of charge in 5 minutes.

Batteries are a game-changer for grids and electric vehicles. With prices permanently below $100 per megawatt-hour they're now competing with oil and gas, writes Bloomberg's @davidfickling bloomberg.com/opinion/articl…

As the saying goes: trust is hard won, but easily lost. For the first time in my lifetime, global net favorability for the USA is negative. Trump has absolutely destroyed our standing in the world through a metaphorical multi-front war on our institutions, allies, and global trade — and a few literal wars of choice to boot. It'll take serious effort to recover.
Ramez Naam@ramez

The drop in global perceptions of the US is 100% because of Donald Trump. Clear as day.

Medellín, Colombia dropped its city's warming temps by a whopping 4 degrees Fahrenheit. How? They created "green corridors" of trees and plants throughout the built city. It cost $6.50 per resident, and will save the city millions of dollars each year. We need more of this!

The final report on the Iberia Peninsula (Spain and Portugal) blackout is out. A lot of people will be blaming renewables and talk about inertia. But the cause was bad voltage control and that's surprisingly easy to fix. Let me explain. #Publications_&_Documents" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">entsoe.eu/publications/b…

BREAKING: The blackout in Spain and Portugal in April 2025 did NOT happen because of renewables. The final ENTSO-E report on last year's Iberian blackout is out — and it's essential reading for anyone working on the energy transition. entsoe.eu/news/2026/03/2…

How many times do we have to give farmers billions of dollars because Trump’s policies screw them over constantly? They overwhelmingly voted for this guy 3 times. Ask him for the money - maybe he can sell some crypto.

Today marks a significant milestone in the history of demand flexibility, as @Google announces it has contracted one gigawatt of data center demand response capacity into long-term energy contracts with multiple utilities across the US.  Very proud of this team for pioneering a new way to utilize data centers as grid-responsive assets – and while there are limits to how flexible a given data center can be, Google is committed to continue developing this capability and modernizing power system planning to help realize its potential.
