There’s this app that helps people get remote jobs called Outlier.
A lot of people around the world use the app, but it’s not officially available in Nigeria. Nigerians in the UK and US use it, and some people in Nigeria reportedly use VPNs to access it.
Now, some Nigerian content creators are talking about it on TikTok and creating content that encourages Nigerians to use VPNs to access the app.
As a result, the founders of the app are reportedly bl@cklisting Nigerian names and b@nning accounts linked to them

I got a promotion at work last month.
I've kept it to myself because it's both big news and a huge responsibility.
I'm incredibly grateful to God that I've never had to experience being passed over for a promotion, especially after hearing so many stories from people who have.
I could complain about how busy work has been lately and how that has kept me from showing up here as often, but I'm genuinely grateful for the privilege of having work that keeps me busy.
There is so much I could say, but today I simply want to say thank you to God and to everyone who has supported, encouraged, and cheered me on along the way.
Congratulations to me, and congratulations to all of us by extension. ❤️🥂

@t_Duches Extremism comes in different shape and form that even the pioneers do not take it as serious as the wannabees

Bro, let me tell you what I witnessed in the UAE. A Nigerian colleague never missed Zuhr and Asr at the mosque. After just one week, our boss pulled him aside:
“Taofeek, take it easy. If everyone leaves for prayers at the same time, who will run the company?”
That day, it clicked for me.
The forehead mark (zabiba) many African Muslims have is often linked to years of frequent prostration, especially on rougher surfaces. In the UAE, many people pray on soft carpets and you rarely see anyone making a big display of their religiosity.
They don’t wear religion on their foreheads the way we often do back home. Different environment, different priorities.

How come Arabs and rich Sheiks don’t have that forehead mark African Muslims have on their forehead , don’t they pray enough 🤔

Most people don’t change because they don’t actually see themselves clearly.
Not “I know I have flaws” clearly.
I mean sitting with yourself long enough to notice the specific patterns running your life.
The way you deflect when someone gets too close. The excuses you’ve rehearsed so many times they feel like facts. The version of yourself you’ve been performing for years without questioning it.
You need a certain level of awareness to recognize those patterns.
But awareness isn’t always supposed to be pleasant. It’s not always a peaceful “aha” moment.
Sometimes it feels more like being caught. Like you finally see something in yourself you can no longer pretend isn’t there.
But that’s actually the whole point.
You can’t fix what you refuse to look at. Most people stay stuck because they’re avoiding the mirror. It’s not always because they lack discipline or motivation.
It’s that they lack acceptance and accountability.
Staying busy enough, distracted enough, defended enough to never have to confront the real thing.
However, the people I’ve watched grow the fastest are actually those willing to be uncomfortable with themselves. That includes me btw.
They’ll sit with “I have been wrong about this” without immediately running to justify it.
That takes a different kind of courage most people underestimate.
Changing your behavior is hard. But admitting you need to in the first place, hits different.
What’s something you became aware of about yourself that changed how you moved?

A chief owned all the wells in a village. Every morning, people lined up to buy water. The price kept rising.
The people grumbled quietly. "This is too much." But when they reached the front, they paid and left.
One day, a young man asked his father, "Why don't we dig our own well?"
His father muttered, "Shhh. The chief has guards. They will come at night. Just pay and stay quiet."
"But Papa, we are many. The guards are few," the boy responded.
The father whispered, "Yes, but what if they remember our faces? Better to suffer than be singled out."
So they kept paying. The price kept rising. Families bathed once a week. Children drank less water. Still, they paid.
The chief watched from his balcony and smiled. "I don't even need guards. Fear is cheaper than force. As long as they fear what might happen more than they hate what is happening, they'll never resist."
A council member asked him, "What if they realise they outnumber us?"
The chief laughed. "They know. But each waits for someone else to speak first. While they wait, I raise the price."
The prison with no walls is the one where every man guards his own chains.
