@carlrivera I can still hear the dial up modem clearly, feel the satisfying rip of the perforated printer paper edges, see the pixellated images. I wouldn't trade instant connectivity, convenience of information, and digital everythings, but I have 100% romanticized this time.

How lucky are we? To belong to the generation that got the before and after for personal computing, internet, smart phones, social media, and now AI. Can you fully understand something without knowing what was there before? How will these decades be remembered?

Bedtime tuck-ins is definitely the time to explain: property taxes, our healthcare system, hospital triaging, condo fees, rental insurance, the diff between the liberal and conservative parties, and why you can’t play truth or dare with Alexa (nor ask her to play gunshot noises).
