Here’s the thing: I want the right to Medical Assistance In Dying (MAID) if I have the misfortune to be diagnosed with one of the most horrific of diseases, ALS, or locked in syndrome (complete paralysis and inability to communicate), or any of the other devastating diseases, even end-stage cancer where there is no more hope and you don’t wish to put yourself through terrible pain or have your family watch what is likely to be a brutal ending. I want that right. Many of us want that right. But what we do NOT want is for it to be treated as a money saving option by this Canadian government. We do NOT want to see anyone offered this choice unless their condition is untenable or fatal. MAID, when it started in Canada, assured that people only with a reasonably foreseeable death would be allowed to make the choice to end their own lives. But of course this Liberal government keeps moving the goalposts, and now mental conditions are being considered, children having it are being discussed, and now this: offering it to people with difficult conditions, veterans with PTSD, etc. This has become more of the insanity we see with so many issues in Canada, boundaries moved too far and government stepping in when they shouldn’t, just to save a buck. It’s horrifying. And I can’t believe the direction our country is moving. Human life is priceless, precious, and should never be devalued and death never trivialized and I’m counting on people like @KelsiBurns and the Conservatives who are against the changes to MAID to turn back the tide—and I’ll fight with them.

“I CAN’T BREATHE” Hampshire Police has issued a public apology: "We apologize that Henry was handcuffed and arrested at the moment he was losing consciousness. “We were lied to by the perpetrator” Sorry doesn’t cut it. Sorry isn’t good enough. Still, neither the court nor the police have yet released the camera footage. The Indian killer; Vickrum Digwa, called the police instead of an ambulance & lied, saying that it was Henry who attacked him, that he was drunk, insulted him with racist remarks & knocked off his turban. Hampshire Police arrived (three female officers) & immediately handcuffed Henry, even though he was lying in a pool of blood with stab wounds to his chest and legs. Henry repeatedly said: "I’ve been stabbed, I can’t breathe". On the body camera footage, an officer’s voice is heard: "I don’t think you have, mate". The officer who handcuffed Henry laughed when he said he’d been stabbed. Then they dragged him across the gravel and kept him restrained as he bled out. Only when he lost consciousness did the officers remove the handcuffs & begin resuscitation. Henry died at the scene. This is a result of systemic racial discrimination against White people, two tier policing & a completely broken Police & justice system. The Police instantly took the word of a foreign killer over a native White victim due to his race. Henry never stood a chance. None of us do in the West where White people are treated as 2nd class citizens & have less rights & legal protections than EVERY other race of people in our own homelands.
