There is a woman leaning out of her window (whilst her kids are screaming), flirting with a guy on the street below who is operating the leaf blower. None of this looks as romantic as it probably doesn’t even sound.

@bathwin @MrBoffly I know someone who had cancer, they did a go fund me. Would you have asked to see a DS1500 before you contributed? Because I can tell you, they produced no paperwork to prove it, people accepted it. They did have cancer. They raised over £30k.

@lolwarlol @MrBoffly I retain my common sense out of work. 😕 Gofundme scams aren't exactly unheard of. If I see something online that looks shady I'm going to say so. I hope others will do the same.

@bathwin @MrBoffly Maybe have today off work. At work you have laws, guidlines & procedures to follow. Proof of identity, address & benefits required. This is the internet. Different.

@lolwarlol @MrBoffly Your housing people must be a proper bunch of bastards! 😯 Just think my approach asks nothing unreasonable, guards against scams and leads to more money getting to where it's most vitally needed. This situation doesn't fit that bill on the info given. Off for a bike ride!

@bathwin @MrBoffly People are free To donate to who they like for what puropses they like, no? Many people encouraged her to start the crowdfunder way before. Someone once said they’d give me £10 if I started one because I wanted a motorbike. Hardly a real need but people offer.

@lolwarlol @MrBoffly She knew the difference, she spoke to experts. Councils housing options depts are not evil. People DO lie/misrepresent to get money. Money seekers should be honest about the facts and provide proof. Money ought to go where it is most needed, no?

@lolwarlol @MrBoffly I thought I was cynical! Council staff don't go to work every day to enjoy making people miserable. They work so hard to help people that need it and are some of the best most dedicated people I've ever met.

@bathwin @MrBoffly No offence mate but when I think of council housing departments, the words speedy, efficient or helpful, don’t spring to mind. I speak from being on the other side of your counter. In every instance, £3k eliminates me having to deal with people like them.

@bathwin @MrBoffly It would be the first one she’s tried in over 9 years of following her. Also, you say you work in this field, you know what you’re on about, most people don’t work in this field, they’d panic, they’d get the words wrong, be clueless of the processes & requirements.

@lolwarlol @MrBoffly Terminology matters. Actually being evicted is very different to getting a sectin 21. She was not being evicted. They don't know her and neither do you. Am I so wrong to be suspicious re possible fraudulent online appeals for money? How would you know if it was a scam?

@bathwin @MrBoffly I don’t really care. I’ve followed her for years, I like her, she was in a difficult position, I was lucky enough to be in a position to help. The end.

@lolwarlol @MrBoffly Being forced to leave via court order and being given reasonable notice to leave are not the same. She said she spoke to people who work in housing. Saying 'we're being evicted' creates a sense of urgency/crisis. There is help available from the council.

@bathwin @MrBoffly Look, you want to pick over the terminology, I suggest that most people who donated have followed Jackie for some time & never found her dishonest. If she used the wrong word, I suspect most people won’t care. The intent wasn’t to defraud but to take care of her housing issue.

@MrBoffly @lolwarlol She was not being evicted, as her tweet stated. Her GFM page does not mention the 2 month notice period of a section 21 notice and makes it seem like an emergency situation with no help available, also not true.
