@40kin3weeks @Jenny_1884 Pensioners are not poor.
Pensioners' average income after housing costs is £349/week.
gov.uk/government/sta…
If housing costs is my mortgage (what about council tax, insurance, maintenance) then I'd need to earn at least £32k to match that.

Scotland spent 3 years considering the laws on hate crimes before the Bill was introduced in 2020.
4 more years, after being voted into law and police training to deal with complaints, it came into force.
It took @jk_rowling less than 24 hours to demonstrate why it is ludicrous.

@SteveHartUnite I accept he won the election.
I accept that 'democracy' is a meaningless word to you, unattached to any ethical principle.
English

@SteveHartUnite Even if we pretend nearly 60% of the electorate choosing not to vote has no impact on democratic validity, over 56% did not want Khan as Mayor.
We have as Major a man the vast majority didn't vote for and a clear majority of those that voted didn't want either.

English

@SteveHartUnite Yes, you keep saying that, and ignoring my point about the meaning of democracy. We were talking about the Mayor.
To you 'democracy' just means votes were cast and someone won, and that's it, whether or not the result was the choice of a small (no matter how small) minority.
English

@SteveHartUnite I get it now. Even if he won with a 2% vote you'd be on here all 'the people have spoken' etc
I didn't say it was complicated. It isn't complicated, and also isn't democratic. You don't understand or care about the underlying principles of democracy. 👍
English

@bathwin People vote and the candidate with the most votes wins. Not complicated.
English

@SteveHartUnite To confirm
The way it worked in this election was that Sadiq Khan won despite only 17.6% of Londoners choosing him.
You are therefore justified in dishonestly presenting his victory as the will of the people, when it clearly wasn't.
On what principles is democracy founded?
English

@bathwin Because that’s the way democracy works. People and parties put forward policy platforms and all the people, the electorate get to choose. Londoners chose Sadiq Khan and the policies he put forward.
English

@SteveHartUnite So why were you presenting it as the will of the people if all that actually matters to you is that he won according to the rules?
Democracy works in many ways. This is how it worked in this election. Is any election democratic if we are told it is? Do principles not matter?
English

@bathwin The way democracy works - the winning candidate wins. The loser loses simple. Sadiq won. The opponent of Ulez and free school meals lost.
English

@SteveHartUnite How can you interpret 17.6% of the electorate as representative of the views of 'the people of London'. The overwhelming majority of Londoners chose not to vote for him.
English

@ericonabike Imagine the fuss in a few hundred years when they discover an ancient car park buried under this monstrosity.
English

Remember the good old days, when this was a car park? Must be around 100 people here now, just lounging around doing nothing. The city's ruined now, I tell you, ruined... #Leicester #jubileesquare

Since 2020, the @cpso_ca has been persecuting Dr. @dockaurG for tweeting that
--lockdowns don't work
--waiting for a vax to lift lockdowns is harmful,
--contact tracing covid was futile.
All true statements.
Today, Dr. Gill got her day in court. A thread.

"If you control the food, you control the people. That's ultimately the end goal."
All across the world, unelected globalists at the WEF and UN are waging war on farmers, in an attempt to seize control of the global food supply under the banners of Net Zero and UN Agenda 2030—as detailed in a must-watch documentary titled 'No Farmers, No Food: Will You Eat The Bugs?'

This is a phantasmagorically reductive statement about what transpired in this exchange between Peterson and Shellenberger.
1. They open their discussion talking about transsexualism: men.
2.There are plenty of women with various pathologies driving this industry, and it’s important to understand that. moreover, who is talking about it?
3. Peterson is a psychoanalyst. He is not a feminist. Part of his life’s work Is to help young people, especially boys, become better people, so speaking about the responsibilities of women here is partly, as I see it, a balancing act. No one else is doing it. I visit social media consistently because I study this issue and watch where it’s going. it is absolutely top-heavy with women - mostly feminists - talking about men’s depravity. This is because this does emerge out of men’s unchecked maladaptive sexuality. It does not mean that women get a pass.
4. Though for the most part, I haven’t gotten to them yet, there are many women at the higher echelons of this industry that are helping to drive it with massive amounts of capital.
5. This remark is why more men and women today hate feminism. The discourse is absolutely rigid and reactive. It is massively totalizing.
6. I don’t feel the need for Peterson or Schellenberger, to acknowledge the work that I’ve done in this interview. My work stands for itself. If everyone who did an interview had to credit everyone who came before them, the interviews would be far longer than they are. There are many, many people doing incredible research on this issue. We who have been involved in this research cannot expect at every point to be credited. There is no plagiarizing here, there is no co-opting other people’s work. Peterson has been involved in researching this issue for an incredibly long time, and Shellenberger had these files dumped into his lap. He took this forward of his own accord.
7. I have seen @_CryMiaRiver in her own interviews discussing the files. She too, is getting information out there. She does not start her interviews by crediting everybody that came before her. Furthermore I think if she had felt slighted she could stick up for herself. She seems quite a formidable woman.
I would have a lot more to say about this and I probably will when I have more time. But I want to publicly state that because I call myself a feminist does not mean I get behind this statement or the idea that either of these men are misogynistic, which I find patently, ridiculous, and really harmful to say.
Does that word mean anything anymore? I mean seriously, woman hatred?

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova on the German Foreign Minister's statement that Putin "wants to drag NATO into the conflict".
"I would like to ask Baerbock: is she not aware that it was not Russian bases that surrounded NATO countries, but NATO that expanded eastwards along Russia's border? Buy Annalena a map, a history book and chewing gum so she doesn't talk such nonsense”.

@ClimateWarrior7 Many family members were able to enjoy their inheritances much earlier than they would have thanks to Harold. His 'victims' were spared years of urine soaked care home misery. Plus they were old anyway.
