First, Gorbachev himself debunked the myth and a lie of NATO 'promising' to not expand, decades ago! Sachs helped us develop our free market economies after we broke from Russia and USSR (yep, always breaking free from the one aggressor) but that doesn't mean he is an expert. He is an absolute liar and pro-Putin propagandist now. As a Pole: NATO is a democratic pact. All members join on their own free will. Poland joined in 99. There was a referendum, Poles decided, period! And generations of Poles died through centuries under Russian oppression to be able to join the free, democratic pact of friendly countries! Russia won't tell independent countries who they can join or not! And maybe Russia and its fans should ask themselves why even Slavic brotherly nations prefer to join NATO than Russia! Why is it that the majority of Slavic countries run away from Russia as fast as they can! Maybe because Russia was always the aggressor and opressor, and rapist and murderer in our region! Always! And they didn't change. They never had democracy once, all these centuries of their existence! They are the nation of slaves pathetically surrendering to the next oligarch and tsar a la Putin every time, unable to fight for real, free, democratic leadership! They became such a big country, land-wise, exactly because all they did was attack other tribes and nations, and forcefully annex their territory to Russia, for centuries! No one wants to do any business or live with the killer and aggressor! And we - neighboring countries don't need articles, TV shows or even books to tell us this, generations of our own families and friends literally experienced Russian attacks, occupation, enslavement and aggression! It was in our grandmothers' stories! From my Polish perspective alone: generations of my family were sent to Siberia and Gulags only because they fought for Polish independence and opposed Russian aggression, also the one which happened on September 17th 1939! Yep, Russia was Hitler's ally for years, until 1941, period - that's the REAL history which isn't even taught in modern Russia to this day! That's how 'honest' they are. And mor0n American propagandist Tucker Carlson parrots these Russian lies and historical denialism! Russia is the same as Iran or North Korea. So 'congrats' to this dumb American c*nt Trump and Musk, and all idiotic MAGA hats for standing with the murderous dictators now! 'Bravo'! And STOP spreading lies about NATO and history of our region, if you are not from there and have no idea what you are talking about!
