@AlexAperios You can get Figma stuff into Illustrator with a funniest way possible. With overlord through After Effects.

I've got so used to designing in Figma that now I have to design some large scale format printing I am hating every second. It's actually crazy how much faster and simpler Figma is to use for anything grid related. Illustrator just feels so old. And whats worse, there is AI tools all over the place that make it even more annoying to use. @Adobe You need to improve your tools!

@Jakob_Wahlberg All self-expression ultimately has the end goal of sharing it with others. You can do it by yourself, that's practice. But it's not the end goal. That's just evolutionarily why you have this urge in the first place. That's the function.

@rms80 Rolling out a feature with poor onboarding/best practices for devs can cause more damage than good, regardless of the feature's quality. That’s just a bad product design.

@Darren_Mooney There is a subset of creatives whose passion is diametrically greater than their artistic sensibilities and skills. I truly admire their perseverance and tenacity.

I’m sure Stuckmann is a lovely guy, but it’s very telling that the least successful of these came from a guy whose videos were largely him speaking direct to camera at the same angle in the same location on a regular basis.
Brendan Hodges@metaplexmovies

I keep seeing this take and while I don't like all these movies, it's worth acknowledging the most succesful films from YouTubers came from people who consistently made actual creative material online over a long period before trying to make a feature film

@carmguti Was is it always difficult to read the mouse raycast from the 3d scene onto the 2d space with active UI? Genuine question from gamedev background.

@valgoroth_ @A_i The whole thing comes across as the most designed in a board room product I've ever seen in my life. The devs account of the whole process from pitch to launch is unbelievable and unrepeatable.

@chiefkittenme @0xCharlota If you are sharing master studies you are proving that you can copy. If you copy to learn do second work where you apply the learnings with your own twist. If the only thing you have is studies you are not a creative you are just a student.

yes yes, you can and absolutely should learn design by copying others' work — but maybe don't post it on twitter?

@WaterMuseum_ Idk, feels like natural cycle. Working on something too long so next one can get all the new learnings can get squeezed into shorter time and then the third one again take more time and so on

I solemnly swear never to spend this long on a game again (been maybe almost a year and a half?) I want to get back to smaller shit like arcitc eggs after this. Better for me mentally and creatively I think. I just got nervous going full time and thought I needed to go bigger/better, but Arctic Eggs taking about 5 months from start to finish to make felt good and safe. Think my time would be better spent trying to make something bigger/better within a 5-6 month time frame and see how far I can push that.

it's really crazy to me how all discussion is just permanently frozen in time, I remember discussing 'fail state' in relation to games 15 years ago and even 10 year old me was able to understand that it is not what makes a game a game
