So many formerly ex-gay folks have said that ex-gay theology doesn’t work. So why are there still so many LGBTQIA+ folks who feel that God doesn’t want them to be in committed, loving gay relationships? Why is ex-gay theology still alive and well?

I’ve been seeing a lot of ex-LGBTQIA+ testimonies on TikTok. And I feel concerned. Exodus International, for example, ran for decades and had thousands of members, before it was dissolved. Its former leaders have come out and said that ex-gay theology just doesn’t work.
