@tonytost Is it maybe that it is taught at all that is a challenge? I love writing wee poems and the wordplay I find in some but for many it’s a chore and maybe popular songs are more relevant and relatable. So many curriculum works are so over analysed that their meaning is lost

We do a disservice to the arts, I think, when they become mostly a separate playground for the well-behaved and well-heeled, full of good messages and appropriate thoughts. Art probably works best as the trouble and not as the balance.

Behind most of my artistic convictions there's my nagging skepticism about the intellectualized divisional walls we've constructed between mind & body, self & collective, process & product, myth & truth, etc. Similarly b/w art & life. Mostly, I'm trying to reconnect 'em all.

@Baddiel (Use what herbs you like - not too much spice - the couscous didn’t hurt you did it? Flavour it gently, as If you’d want it to ask for a little more - it’s the memorable chorus line which supports the main act, it’s not there to upstage it.)

@Baddiel Oh, and if you **have** to have couscous cook some of same meat separately, in a little oil for 3-4 mins at a fair temp, mix in a little red wine - cook for another 2-3 mins- eat the meat as is or add to the pot - use the liquid as part of the couscous cooking liquor

A beef tagine/stew I made yesterday with tomatoes and many spices, slow cooked for four hours, on a bed of couscous. Inedible.
