Od července 2027 budou hotovostní platby přesahující 10 000 EUR ve všech 27 členských státech EU nezákonné.
Při každé transakci nad 3 000 EUR bude nutné předložit doklad totožnosti. Nelegální je také rozdělování plateb za účelem obejití tohoto limitu. Kryptoměny podléhají vládní kontrole. Ve stejném roce odstartuje pilotní projekt digitálního eura. Bude plně sledovatelné a programovatelné. Vydává a monitoruje ho centrální banka.
Tvrdí, že jde o praní špinavých peněz. Ale jde o dohled nad lidmi.
