I've been working on a note taking app that is structured like Discord. - Code is opened sourced. - All notes are stored locally on your device. - Full markdown support. The binaries (macOS, windows, linux) are available in the repo if you want to try it out. Link below 👇

Today we're opening up the DoorDash CLI in limited beta. `dd-cli` lets you order DoorDash directly from your agent: search stores, find the best deals, check out, and more. Early access for US/Canadian macOS developers by waitlist. Excited to see what folks build!

@13yroldwithcc I was pretty disappointed with Tenet tbh. It's either Memento or Inception for me

Tenet is Nolan's best film and (Sl)Oppenheimer is his worst movie so I am excited to see what The Odyssey is like

Are they going to slowly transition back to the old algo so that we don't notice? Frog in boiling water style?

Being that *almost* everyone is happy about the new algo validates the (obvious) idea that it was hyper-optimized to make you feel bad and but also make you laugh every once in a while. It feels like a weight has been lifted, and in a weird way makes me trust the app less.

@ChristinaTasty Honestly there's something so earnest about releasing games with the knowledge that it won't exist forever. These are more like short experiences that you share with friends, not eternal games that devolve into dopamine drip microtransaction hell.

Potential Hot Take: I like that these kind of games exist I will put on my propeller hat and play it with my friends for 3-10 hours and never pick it back up and I will enjoy it. As long as these games are no more than approximately £12 I think they’re a boon to the industry

@longlongfern @ElonlsACunt @ChristinaTasty Why on earth does it need to have merit beyond hanging out with and having fun? If I pay $6 for a game and have a good time, even if we never play again, that's money well spent because I got to have a novel experience with my friends.

@lorem___ @ElonlsACunt @ChristinaTasty the issue with these games isn't that they're bad, it's that they have zero value or merit beyond being a way for you to hang out with your friends (and after a few hours you'll probably go hang out elsewhere never to return)

@ElonlsACunt @longlongfern @ChristinaTasty Yeah but if we have fun in both why does it matter what my friends and I buy? Like why does it need to meet the standard of "good" if I'm just having fun with friends? Again, am I wasting my time spending $15 to have fun watching a bad movie with friends?

@lorem___ @longlongfern @ChristinaTasty you can goof off with your friends in an actually good multiplayer game like gang beasts or smash bros or uno without having to buy a generic slop game that relies entirely on you playing with your friends to be good just to forget the game exists in 6 months

@ElonlsACunt @longlongfern @ChristinaTasty Good is largely subjective. You not liking the game doesn't make it slop. Sometimes people just want to goof off with their friends. I'll watch an absolute garbage movie with friends because it's a fun experience. How is this any different?

@lorem___ @longlongfern @ChristinaTasty it's always "whimsy" and "wonder" but never "actually good game". you can have pointless fun in games with actual substance and content, it doesn't have to be a mindless roblox slop game with a higher budget

@longlongfern @ChristinaTasty I'm sorry you have to find out this way, but you've been diagnosed with a complete loss of whimsy, wonder, and just-have-pointless-fun-sometimes
