Day 3 of designing a new product from scratch in one week. Today I worked on the Updates flow for Frontdesk. The goal was to make customer communication feel simple enough for small businesses that don’t have dedicated marketing or support teams. Instead of starting with a blank editor, I explored a message-type approach: – announcements – reminders – offers – follow-ups – custom updates That small decision helps shape the workflow, templates, copy, and future automation possibilities without overwhelming the user upfront. Also spent time thinking about: – how drafts should work – lightweight analytics for the V0 – filtering and organization – and making recurring communication feel less intimidating Still trying to keep the product focused on clarity over feature overload.
