Zapata was struck in the left eye by shrapnel. Bodycam footage shows Zapata, despite being shot, helping a civilian resident climb over a tall fence to safety, then radioing for backup while the suspect continued shooting. The suspect, 39-year-old Angel Cantu, was arrested later that day following a manhunt. He faces three counts of aggravated assault on a public servant.
