@nateberkopec I’d love to read about the work/challenges of bringing packwerk to an existing app. Mostly curious about what kind of refactoring was required, how painful it was.

I'm not yet convinced by the benefits of typing/Sorbet, but I am convinced about the benefits of packwerk. It's just made code so much easier to think about in the Gusto monolith.

I completely agree, ISO standards should be publicly available. Ever tried to look up the reference for ISO 8601 formatted dates? Or maybe the list of ISO 3166 Country codes? This data should be available, period.

@PierreNick Nah, I’m still using github.com/fikovnik/Shift… which fits my needs, even if the project is looking for a maintainer.

@PierreNick If you want to go the DIY way, hammerspoon.org is awesome. Coupled with something like github.com/miromannino/mi… it can be pretty flexible.

Profile shows that mprotect is chewing up all the time. It's currently doing two mprotect calls per object move. I think I can amortize the call across multiple objects, but I didn't think it would be _this_ expensive (and I am bummed)

Pretty disappointed today. mprotect read barriers seem to be working fine, but it's incredibly slow. Compaction takes 4x longer. I need to think more 😩

discuss.rubyonrails.org is one of the best thing that could happen for the #rubyonrails community. It feels so good to be able to have meaningful discussions with the Rails core team. Looking through discuss.rubyonrails.org/c/a-may-of-wtf… got me excited for the future of Rails!

@RTCQuebec Bonjour, en effet, votre ancient site mobile affichait la vue web de Nomade. Je comprend que maintenant votre site web est responsive, mais il n'y a plus de manière facile d'ajouter un arrêt dans les favoris afin de voir en temps réel quand est-ce que le prochain bus arrive.

Sidekiq 6 removed support for daemonization, encouraging everyone to use systemd or upstart instead. Definitely thinking about doing the same for Puma 5.
