@clairevo Is this even executive recruiting? Like the search for a C-level is going to run on a fucking sequence? I get these sometimes, and they are almost always crap agency spray and prays, not real exec recruiters on retainer.

I will make it my life’s mission to shame executive recruiters who can’t search the names of their (extremely online) targets and put a single personalized sentence at the top of their outbound

Sure there are some job seekers, but there were a lot of people who are happy with their current role and are just curious about what’s out there. Engineers. Designers. Growth/GTM operators. The kind of people who don't have their resume on a job board because they've never needed to. I have thousands of startups in my network hiring, but they can’t find you unless I know you first. I have 3 people close to me who suffer from bipolar disorder. One of them (a team member) tragically took his own life. He was an extremely talented and normally quiet young man, trained as an accountant. His symptoms in manic episodes were consistent with Ye’s. He would go on public anti-Semitic and racist rants on social media. He would always emerge from these episodes with deep shame. Apologising to me, his friends, family and our team for his behaviour. There was not a bad bone in his body. One time I had to hunt him down in London in-person in the middle of the night to try to help save his life. Anti-semitism is abhorrent and unacceptable. But mental illness is extremely complex and if we don’t have a path for treating and helping people with disorders like bipolar - unfortunately will we have many more people take their own lives. The UK govt should let Ye into the UK or it sends a very negative message to millions of people who suffer from similar conditions. Rest in peace Alex - I know you have finally found the peace you were looking and I’m sorry the world could not provide it to you. ❤️

@loveLFM @DeathlyAcorn @alexfmac I’m a survivor of abuse and a long time sufferer of a complex mental illness that includes manic episodes. I agree with every word @alexfmac said on this in his posts.

Anyone with the faintest understanding of mental health (and capitalism!) knows his sneeze of an “apology” was to create a permission structure for people who don’t like being reminded that the shame they feel for supporting a sexual predator and nazi is warranted. But, hey, who cares about victims and proven strategies for helping people recover from mental health issues — we’ve got a concert to get to!

@alexfmac @loveLFM If he had said these things during a manic episode its unlikely that he would also have found the time to write, record and produce an entire song with a music video before the realisation sunk in. It took 3 years for an apology, so I'm pretty skeptical this was just an episode
