@chihirodoll this. it's easy (to me) that Cassie is losing this man she's so obsessed with. cassie is also very emotional as we've seen. maddy lost someone who pretended to play Russian roulette with her life... amongst other things. she's also realizing the shit she got herself into.

@witchesflight I don’t believe it is at all, snakes have an instinctual avoidance of a vertical shaft like the air pipe it went in through. It also would have taken a lot longer for it to realize it was trapped and get aggressive enough to bite
