I went to a lovely village fete today, and there was a fish ‘n’ chip van, so I had a large cod and chips. My missus ‘didn’t want any’, but then, of course, proceeded to eat around 40 per cent of my chips. Also, two random women simply walked up and helped themselves to some, as if that was perfectly acceptable. How much longer must men put up with this? How do we know how much food to buy? If you run a chips-adjacent food outlet, how do you know how much to serve to a bloke when there are obvious women present? Of course, I’m happy to share with the frail, fainting flower of womanhood, because what’s mine is hers first. We are men, and our duty is to provide and, ultimately, defend, even unto death. But this is about chips, and boundaries are important. Sisters: it’s OK to like chips. It’s OK to want some. We know you do.

What might feel like a harmless trend can cause real fear, trigger a major law enforcement response, and shut down an entire school. Not to mention, it can land you in serious trouble. Leave the games off campus. If you bring a weapon—or anything that looks like one—to school, you will be dealt with accordingly.

The 14th amendment was about freed slaves ONLY. The framers might have made that point with greater clarity, except our Constitution intentionally avoids referring to race or slavery, out of embarrassment. Instead, the framers used convoluted euphemisms, like “free Persons” and “all other Persons” or “Person held to Service or Labour.” Even the post-Civil War amendments—despite being all about slaves and slavery—go out of their way to minimize the subject, by, for example, guaranteeing “equal protection” to “any person within [a state’s] jurisdiction.” That’s the reason for the 14th Amendment’s strange locution: “All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.” The odd phraseology wasn’t an IED meant to blow up in the country’s face a century later. The framers were expressing their discomfort with the “peculiar institution” that had been demanded by plantation owners in need of cheap labor. I do not drive anymore. Tesla Self-Driving does over 99% of my driving, and the only disengaging I do is for small nav issues and parking preferences (which I assume will get resolved in 14.3).
