@Coo84_ff Wait. It was Kane. He scored 2 goals in the 32s to save us?

Night to myself so I’m going to write an honest player by player review of England’s World Cup performance Disclaimer - I’ve no club bias towards any player in this. Just saying what I saw without club blinkers on like most of you. Here we go…….

@Coo84_ff I was even there 😂😂 I’ll tell you this though - when he’s retired we’ll see how good he is. The only forwards you’d have over him is haaland and mbappe - and even then it’s close.

@Coo84_ff How about his two goals to dig us out in the 32s? Top goal scorer across top leagues in Europe - he’s undoubtedly world class. He looked shattered in the semis, should have been pulled. But I’m not sure he had any fault for the loss, and we wouldn’t get where we did without him.

@lrichardsonbcfc His ball to the Argentina left back whose mistake was the reason it ended up in our possession?

Probably cruise through another qualification campaign facing minnows, qualify in first place. Tell the world how it's coming home and you will smash everyone. Lose a couple of friendly matches to shite sides. Finish top of the group lose to the first decent side you face 👍

@bryandocherty80 Maybe you wouldn’t have to find a team to support if you were any good yourselves!

Yesterday was one of the biggest scams I’ve seen in a game of football. Everything is rigged. Big teams to go through, it’s all scripted. So proud of our team, they fought to the end vs opponent and refs. Clearly deserved the win🇳🇴 What a World Cup team💪

Nobody would be remotely arsed about the wire thing if 1. FIFA hadn't immediately came out and lied about it 2. A single living English person was capable of going "haha yeah funny one, due a bit of luck for once!"

Big fan of this. Aside from FIFA being cash-grabbing sluts, there is good logic to it. 64 teams means no more ‘best third-place’ progression, as it’ll surely be 16 groups with the top two progressing to the Round of 32. It doesn’t add any more games for the players, but it does mean more games for fans, neutrals, TV, sponsors, etc. That’s where they’ll see the revenue growth. It also gives me a much better chance of seeing Scotland at consecutive World Cups, even if it does end in ultimate disappointment.
The Athletic | Football@TheAthleticFC

Gianni Infantino has said FIFA will examine expanding the World Cup by a further 16 nations to a 64-team tournament ahead of its next edition in 2030. The 2030 tournament will be spread across six nations and three continents: Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay are scheduled to host one match apiece at the start of the competition, with the remaining games split between Morocco, Portugal and Spain. @OlaPeder Of course it gets ruled out. They pulled Kane on a push later in the game.

The foul threshold has been high all tournament… until a smaller nation scores. Then suddenly VAR finds a reason to disallow it. Does anyone genuinely believe that gets ruled out if it’s England who scores?

@KeithWildman This is where I went for Congo. The concourse is completely open the whole way round - going quite narrow and crowded in bits. It’s going to be absolute carnage.

It’s a fair question. My point isn’t that there was no contact, there clearly was. I just don’t think every physical duel is automatically a foul. For me, it looked like a normal shoulder-to-shoulder challenge rather than enough to overturn a goal, which is why I disagreed with the VAR intervention.

This is a scandal in my eyes. There is simply no foul by Erling Haaland on Elliot Anderson. Norway’s second goal should have stood. Instead, it’s ruled out. ❌ Fifteen minutes later, Norway hit the post. Sander Berge goes for the rebound with Ezri Konsa on his back, gets dragged down, and it’s a clear penalty. Arguably even a red card. The incident isn’t even reviewed. 🤯 Two huge decisions in a match where World Cup qualification is still on the line. Credit to Norway for standing tall despite some dreadful officiating tonight. 🇳🇴👏 #NORENG #FIFAWorldCup #WorldCup2026 #Norway #England #Haaland #Football
