Hey @grok True or false: on received funding, especially equalization-supported services and marquee projects, provinces east of Manitoba come out ahead. Western provinces, particularly Alberta and Saskatchewan, bear more of the tax burden while seeing fewer direct infrastructure windfalls tailored to their scale or geography. This fuels ongoing regional tensions in Canadian federalism, as seen in debates over projects like the Toronto–Quebec City rail line versus western resource and transportation needs.

288 nurses cut. 40 vice-principals cut at the Toronto District School Board. Public services stretched to the breaking point. But somehow there’s room for this? Since 2022, Kara Ford has seen her salary increase by over $83,000 a year. While the rest of Ontario is being cut and starved? Doug Ford, Ontario deserves better than this.
Coffey4Canada2@Coffey4Canada2

Kara Ford now makes $83,416 more than she did in 2022 at the same employer, when she was manager of public affairs, corporate communication and volunteer services. That’s what a 2 year Broadcasting Diploma from Conestoga College will get ya if your Dad is Doug Ford.

An American organization invited me to give a keynote on overcoming addiction, homelessness, and bridging harm reduction with recovery. I told them I’d gladly help because the U.S. is miles behind on many challenges. However I’m not stepping foot in the USA, not right now, and even with a waiver you can't guarantee my safety. They wanted me in person, so I declined and thought that was the end of it. Guess what? They called back. The board approved it, so I’ll now be doing it virtually. Still making an impact just not at the cost of my safety. Proud to do it from Canada 🇨🇦 and make a difference!

We paid into the system our entire lives. Worked. Paid taxes. Bought homes. Now when we need care, we’re told it’s $4,000–$8,000 a month or sell everything. Why are seniors being pushed to pay corporations like Chartwell Retirement Residences… …instead of accessing the public long-term care we paid into? Because Doug Ford didn’t keep up with public long-term care. Why should we be forced to sell our homes, homes meant to be passed on to our children, just to age safely? We want to be able to pass something on to give our kids even a small chance in Ontario. A chance to maybe put a down payment on a home. A start in life. This isn’t normal. We cannot normalize this.
Bev 🇨🇦@Garnet_2203

My mother-in-law is in hospital, unstable, struggling to breathe, not safe on her own. And someone walks in with a brochure for Chartwell Retirement Residences. Not a care plan. A sales pitch. In an Ontario hospital. This is the reality after years of underfunding by Doug Ford, families pushed to “find somewhere to go.”

@Nannynannynanoo Unfortunately it’s not looking good. Probably palliative. It’s just unbelievable @ChartwellRR is soliciting in our public hospitals. Not knowing the patient.

Your claim that a new Alberta-to-West-Coast pipeline has "zero impact" on housing costs, grocery prices, immigration pressures, or gas prices is pure propaganda that ignores every piece of economic data available. It is the same selective blindness that has kept $670 billion in energy projects stalled while Canadians pay the price. Here are the facts you skipped: Oil and gas already deliver over 3.3% of Canada’s GDP, support 450,000–900,000 direct and indirect jobs at above-average wages, and generate more than $20 billion a year in royalties and taxes. Alberta alone has contributed a net $285 billion-plus to federal equalization since the program began, money that funds services in every province. Adding 1.5 million barrels per day of new pipeline capacity would deliver another $31 billion in annual GDP growth (roughly 1.1% of the national economy) and sustain or create 112,000 more jobs. That is not abstract, that is money in provincial coffers for housing supply, grocery transport infrastructure, and the fiscal room to manage immigration without collapsing services. Better pipeline access narrows the WCS-WTI discount (already tightened by TMX) and puts billions more into government revenue instead of foreign pockets. We still import 40% of our crude while sitting on the third-largest reserves on Earth. That is not sovereignty, that is self-sabotage that keeps refinery margins high and pump prices elevated for every Canadian driver and every family buying food trucked across the country. Opening resource projects reverses that. Pair it with aggressive advancement of SMR nuclear, small modular reactors already in regulatory review and ready for deployment. Nuclear provides dispatchable, 24/7 baseload power without emissions caps that strangle industry. It powers new mines, LNG trains, data centres, and homes at stable cost while freeing natural gas for export instead of domestic backup. The combined effect is energy abundance: lower electricity and fuel prices, higher industrial investment, and royalties that actually fund the housing builds and hospital expansions your side keeps demanding without ever explaining how to pay for them. The current regulatory regime, Bill C-69, endless net-zero vetoes, and ideological delays, has delivered exactly what you claim pipelines won’t: higher debt, job losses in the West, record grocery and housing inflation, and an immigration surge without the economic base to absorb it. Canadians are not stupid. They see the causation. Evidence over excuses. Precision over propaganda. Citizens first. Canada First.

I took pictures of Mark Carneys book, “Values” and asked Chat GPT to give me a summary… “his worldview is absolutely incompatible with economic freedom, democratic accountability, and individual autonomy. That makes him dangerous—because he doesn’t think he’s dangerous. He thinks he’s saving you.”

CANADIANS ARE DYING WHILE THE GOVERNMENT HIDES THE TRUTH. For years, a secret deal has existed between a foreign pharmaceutical giant, Grifols, and Canadian Blood Services. Today, the veil is finally being lifted.  The Scandal: 📍 Conservatives just passed a motion to force the disclosure of a contract even Health Canada hasn't seen. 📍 Reports show Canadian blood plasma is being harvested here and sold for profit overseas. 📍 Two deaths have occurred at Grifols facilities in Manitoba (Oct 2025 & Jan 2026), yet the Health Minister remains silent.  The Conflict of Interest? Brookfield Asset Management is currently making multi-billion dollar plays to take over Grifols. Mark Carney, who has massive personal ties to Brookfield, is right in the middle of the web. 🏦  Our health system is not a playground for billionaire investors. Demand accountability. 🗣️ #Cdnpoli #Canada #CdnEcon #Grifols #BloodSafety #MarkCarney #Freedom #Accountability #CdnNews

The world is burning less, not more That's contrary to the climate narrative Last year saw the 2nd-lowest burn ever, just 0.03 percentage point above the lowest-ever in 2022 Why does media not tell us this? Instead, they mislead us, showing only places where it burns more Data: from satellites circling the planet 24/7, earthdata.nasa.gov/data/catalog/l…, 2025 is 2.198%, 2022 is 2.169% You can see all the references in my Twitter thread: x.com/BjornLomborg/s…

🚨🇨🇦 Questions around conflicts and accountability - @MarkJCarney The Mark Carney government is launching a $2B Critical Minerals Fund. Meanwhile: Diana Fox Carney advises firms like TechMet and Terramera — companies that have reportedly received $20M+ in taxpayer funding since 2018. 📊 Now Ottawa is expanding investment in the same sector. Fair question: What safeguards are in place to prevent conflicts of interest? 🤔🇨🇦 #cdnpoli #Canada #Ethics #Accountability #PublicFunds

The reason Mr. Carney hides from Question Period is that his real record (not the illusion) is doubling the deficit, no pipelines approved, no crime laws changed, while giving Canada the only shrinking economy and worst food price inflation in the G7. Better to float around on a cloud of illusions than hit the harsh ground of reality.

@THudson59618056 @PierrePoilievre I own funds tied to Brookfield but wasn’t my choice. As long as you don’t have family ties to an employee or someone on board it’s not illegal.

Conflict of interest galore but silence from you folk. Only worried about the opposition. Make this make some fucking sense please.

@THudson59618056 @PierrePoilievre It was sad, but they changed the boundaries and included a liberal stronghold. Only lost by 3,800 votes. And he lied to his constituents day 1 with losses of federal jobs which he said there wouldn’t be. You still celebrating?
