"We do these things not because they are easy, but because we thought they were going to be easy" is a surprisingly profound quote. When I ask people who've pulled off remarkable things, it's interesting how many confirm that they wouldn't have started if they'd know how long and difficult the road would be.

“i could build this in a weekend” is a sign of someone who never actually built anything that works at scale

Many people say it’s impossible to build culture in a distributed company and that an office is essential. Watching our team interact during our first @muckrack all company retreat in Mexico affirmed my belief that our culture is as strong as they come. Over 200 of us felt the camaraderie you’d expect from people who’d spent years together in the same building even though many were meeting in person for the first time. Spirits are high, and as a company that operated sustainably since inception, we’re still growing and hiring into 2024. Check out the careers page of our website if you want to join us! I left with a renewed sense of purpose to keep making Muck Rack better for our customers and employees, both of which are spread all over the world. At a time with so much fracturing, we believe better communication and a free press can help bring us all together. Onward!

The average home cook’s user experience has been held hostage by recipe websites for the past few decades: 1) Bloated paragraphs of text 2) Pages packed full of ads on every scroll 3) No real focus on how to actually learn cooking from a recipe. Over the past 12 months, my team and I started building a new website and cooking company to change that…I’d like to introduce you to Cook Well.

One reason I don't like Zoom is that I can't do this. Another is that I have to think about my facial expression all the time.
