IDF OKETZ DOG KILLED IN SOUTHERN LEBANON — HANDLER ELIMINATES HEZBOLLAH GUNMAN An IDF Oketz military working dog was killed during operations in southern Lebanon after a Hezbollah terrorist opened fire from a building in Bint Jbeil. According to the IDF, troops from the 679th “Yiftah” Armored Brigade were searching the same building where a Hezbollah operative seriously wounded a reserve soldier last week. During the operation, another Hezbollah gunman opened fire, killing the Oketz dog. The dog’s handler — a female Oketz combat soldier operating with the reserve forces — immediately returned fire and eliminated the terrorist. No Israeli soldiers were injured.
