I just think the Tiger situation is sad. Truthfully. Now, just because I can since you wandered into my thread. If I wanted to be a total dick and play your game, I’d ask you if your emphasis on Tiger was because he’s a black guy. But I won’t. Because I assume you’re a normal human that doesn’t base your online posts on some hidden “—ist” or “—ism” motive. ✌🏻

@ltdubyah @GOLF_com Do you also criticize Tiger Woods for “not being ready to compete” when he goes and limps around before DQ’ing 24 holes into a tournament?

“Do you think I want to do it intentionally? Of course not.” Yesterday, Bailey Shoemaker went viral for a slow play incident. Today, she explained why she is just staying focused on her recovery, and playing Augusta National tomorrow.

@Top100Rick Aimpoint or no aimpoint who cares. Slow is slow. You can do an Irish jig on the green for all I care so long as you get your putt done in a reasonable amount of time.

Watch this. Watch every second. Don’t allow yourself to turn away. Burn it into your eyeballs Clockwork Orange style. I’ve decided it’s not the slowness when it comes to Aimpoint. It’s the actual act itself. It’s an abomination against humanity.

Feel free to browse my post history. Aside from calling out retarded politicians, slow play is probably my next highest frequency in what (relatively) little I post. I’m an unabashed and indiscriminate loather of slow play — both on here and on the course. I personally think the professional game should introduce a “shot clock”. And yes, I think Patrick Cantlay should be banned from the tour.

Nike wiped out $200B+ in market cap since November 2021. And the chart actually understates how bad it is. This company made one bet that destroyed everything: the direct-to-consumer pivot. During COVID, Nike's online sales surged, and management convinced themselves the stay-at-home economy was permanent. They pulled product from Foot Locker, Dick's, and thousands of wholesale partners to push buyers through Nike.com and Nike stores. That ceded physical shelf space to On Running, Hoka, New Balance, and every competitor happy to fill the void. By the time Nike brought Elliott Hill in as CEO, customers had already moved on. The China numbers are staggering. Seven straight quarters of declining revenue. Greater China sales dropped 17% last quarter. Next quarter Nike expects a 20% plunge. Meanwhile Lululemon is posting double-digit growth in the same market. Anta and Li-Ning are eating Nike's share from below. Nike's China revenue contribution fell from 18.6% in 2021 to 14.2% in 2025. Yesterday Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, and Bank of America all downgraded the stock on the same day. Net income fell 35% year over year. Gross margin has declined for seven consecutive quarters. And the stock still trades at 38x forward earnings, a premium over the S&P 500 average of 22x. This is what a slow-motion brand collapse looks like with a luxury multiple attached to it. The turnaround keeps getting pushed further out. Management promised growth by early 2027. Wall Street priced that in. Now it's late 2027 at best. The scariest part: Nike is still the #1 sportswear company by market cap. If this is what #1 looks like, the rest of the industry is running a different race entirely.

Appreciate the situation. But she needs to work that out in practice, not competition. Allowing this in competition takes something affecting her and forces its effects onto every other person with (and behind) her…and that’s not fair nor right. Mental injuries are just as real as physical, and she wouldn’t be out there with a physical impairment that prevented her from being competition ready, nor would it be allowed. If someone had a leg injury that they hadn’t fully recovered from and as such it took them 20 minutes to hobble to each shot, but then they could “swing just fine”, they wouldn’t allow for the slow play simply because the injury wasn’t fully healed to allow normal play. Do whatever you want in a non competition setting, you can let people play through while you do your thing. Unacceptable in a competition setting.

I'll admit, I replied to a post yesterday and made a joke. I feel kinda bad about my joke now. Does this statement change your opinion on the slow play incident from yesterday? I feel bad for her for sure. I sympathize even. But I still think it should be a penalty.

As Shoemaker gets lit up by social media, it's important to note some context: 1. She had major arm surgery last October after playing through "excruciating pain" for seven months 2. She's 100% physically now, but she's still fighting a mental battle, trying to convince her brain that there won't be pain 3. Pre-injury, Shoemaker was "one of the fastest players" USC coach Justin Silverstein has ever coached. “Just trying to reassure myself that there isn’t pain anymore,” Shoemaker explained. “I’ve been struggling with it for the last four months, just being fully committed to hitting the ball.” Added Silverstein: “It’s not easy what she’s going through as far as being able to swing comfortably and confidently. She’s taking it back and her brain is still firing like it’s going to hurt, and that’s how she played all last spring.”

“This is part of her routine” I would have already been on the green waiting before she pulled the trigger.

The main thing ABS has shown us is that players challenging the call immediately is the only type of challenge we should allow. No more “iPad guy” sitting behind the bench checking the replay. If your players don’t know the call is wrong, it wasn’t egregious enough to overturn

If the average person getting $4k/mo from social security could have put that 12.4% of every paycheck into the S&P instead, they would currently be getting $32k/mo instead of $4k. And their kids would continue to get that $32k/mo after they died. Social Security is a scam.

According to Trackman I hit high swooping cuts and low pull hooks about 70% of the time and draws 0% of the time. Accordingly to the 15 rounds of outdoor golf I’ve played in the last two months I in fact don’t hit high swooping cuts or low pull hooks, and hit draws about 60% of the time.

Other than staying somewhat in golf shape, indoor golf is worthless. None of what I was doing on Trackman has translated to outside golf. I don't regret playing indoors all winter but disappointed the goodness doesn't translate. Before anyone asks, yes I'm using RCT golf balls

They cap benefits at an equivalent. If you raise the cap on wages subject to fica, you also then have to raise the maximum benefit which more than likely costs far more than the added taxes collected because of how the math works on pension payouts. The only real solution is later access to SS benefits. The program started with eligibility age 2 years after the then life expectancy. It was literally a safety net program if you lived “longer than expected”. Now people can access benefits 15+ years before life expectancy. You don’t need to be good at math to understand why that doesn’t work.

One of the most radicalizing moments of my life was when I learned that they just stop collecting social security taxes on money earned over like $150K. Like you just suddenly keep 3-6% more money on all money over that threshold.
Fuck You I Quit@fuckyouiquit

Every dollar earned below $184,500 a year has a Social Security tax of 12.4%. Everything after that cap is exempt. If we lift this cap on the wealthiest earners, Social Security would be fully funded till 2070. The cap should not exist.
