Chase Meidroth ain’t lighting the world on fire, but the seemingly default assumption that Sam Antonacci would just kinda take his job seems……questionable, to put it mildly,

@ltk2k2 @GMurray64532 @Skint_Eastwood1 Sure it does, but the law is on the side of free speech, offensive or not. Try to shut someone up by physical force or verbal threat and you will find likely yourself in legal trouble as this beautiful system of ours handles you as designed.

Ricky Gervais on 60 Minutes Makes a Crystal-Clear Case for Free Speech He put it perfectly: the great thing about freedom of speech is that I can say what I want, and you can say you're offended, and I get to decide whether I care or not. Because let's be honest, there's nothing you can say that someone, somewhere won't find offensive. That's why blasphemy laws are so absurd, they're basically trying to protect an all-powerful deity from having its feelings hurt. At the end of the day, we should be free to criticise any idea. Just because you're offended doesn't automatically mean you're right. Spot on, Ricky. Free speech isn't about never upsetting anyone, it's about the right to speak anyway.

@benumido @UncleOJ @Skint_Eastwood1 Look, I get that you’re pissed that you can’t yell the n word on a work call without HR getting involved. Not a free speech issue. And let’s be honest, there’s no point in being a cunt to people in everyday conversation if they just smile sagely and say “nice free speech Sir”.

@benumido @UncleOJ @Skint_Eastwood1 “Oh no, having to restrain myself from being an inconsiderate cunt for 10 minutes violates my god-given freedom of speech of not having anyone react negatively to what I’m saying, despite that being my specific reason for saying what I’m saying.”

@benumido @UncleOJ @Skint_Eastwood1 Nah, just an example of cunts being cunts, but your condescension aside, it works both ways. It takes nothing to have the slightest bit of consideration for the specific audience (in this case, a parent of an autistic child) to not pepper “retard” when having a conversation.

@benumido @UncleOJ @Skint_Eastwood1 Constitutional freedom of speech is not freedom from all legal or personal consequence of speech. Just means that generally the government can’t throw you in jail just for words, with certain exceptions. Put another way, call someone a cunt to their face and see what happens.

@ltk2k2 @UncleOJ @Skint_Eastwood1 Ok, so you know what free speech means, and that seems to be that you are not allowed to speech freely, otherwise there will be punishment?

@UncleOJ @benumido @Skint_Eastwood1 These dopes screech about free speech and have zero idea of what it actually means. What it boils down to is that they just want to be able to just say whatever slurs they grew up saying and make their lazy racist/creepy jokes with impunity.

@gord_marchand @UncleOJ @Skint_Eastwood1 At no point has the US government or any state government ever arrested him or threatened to arrest him for anything he’s ever said. So it’s not a “free speech” issue. He talks his shit under no fear of government retaliation (as is his constitutional right), what a hero.

@UncleOJ @Skint_Eastwood1 You’re actually making his point. He can say what he wants and then decide if he cares if they’re offended. Making laws against offending people is retarded. He didn’t say he doesn’t care. It’s just up to him if he does.

@GMurray64532 @Skint_Eastwood1 You’re the one missing the point. Offensive speech and slanderous speech can happen concurrently but that doesn’t mean all offensive speech is slanderous. You have the right to not be slandered. But you dont have the right to not be offended - even by words you find hateful.

I know Blackhawks fans will be irate with the idea of taking another D man high in the draft, but Chase Reid isn’t a talent you can pass on at 3 or 4 barring McKenna/Stenberg still available

@Cherry_Pepis @AlCimaglia I know what you mean, but what matters is how KD defines “unreasonable”. There’s unreasonable, being eye-rollingly ludicrous like your example which we would all agree on. But if unreasonable means, say, Nazar or Rinzel are untouchable for ANY offer, there’s a problem.

@ltk2k2 @AlCimaglia When I say "reasonable" price I mean based on value I dont want William Nylander for 3 firsts and 2 prospects I am VERY much okay trading away guys for stars, but you should accept trades that have unreasonable prices

The hand that Davidson has to play he dealt himself. When he had a ton of cap space he had no interest in UFA's that could have made the team better. Now he is swimming up stream w/o an advantage. Everyone knew the cap would explode up it was only a question of when.
Sean@Cherry_Pepis

@AlCimaglia My point being this isnt chel, teams have to be willing to move a difference maker for a price that makes sense for KD We arent getting a Geno Malkin at any price that makes sense

@Cherry_Pepis @AlCimaglia What’s wrong is that at some point, *unreasonable* may be required to get what they need. This is not directed at you specifically, but a vocal portion of the fanbase won’t agree to move basically anyone for established young talent. We’ll see soon enough what the org thinks.

@ltk2k2 @AlCimaglia When did I say he CANT improve by trade???? All I said was he cant trade for people who arent willing to move. If no team is willing to give up a difference maker for a reasonable price, then KD shouldn't trade Whats wrong with that??

@Doxyxx @BaseballWRLD_ Exactly. Just because you CAN hit all manner of pitches doesn’t mean you should. If he can get to the point of letting the pitcher’s pitches go more, that OBP will jump and he’ll be a legit menace.

Eric Hosmer@TheRealHoz35

Question for all my new age baseball students out there …… How in 2025 did Nico Hoerner finish 2nd in batting average but 23rd in OBP in the national league? If not drawing walks is your answer please provide his whiff% and provide his contact percentage on swings he made in 2025 and where it ranks amongst NL hitters. @StevenCheah I hate what you’ve done to me but it’s never been more clear the students need their teacher

@dontfollowclass @BaseballWRLD_ @domzipfel it’s cool that he CAN *hit* anything, I guess, but sometimes it’s better to just not. Extreme example is Madrigal. Fuckin guy swung at just about everything bc he could make contact. But weak contact is worthless, so every pitch was a pitcher’s pitch.

The idea vaccines cause autism was invented by Andrew Wakefield in 1998 and was so thoroughly debunked he lost his license for gross malpractice And here we are 27 years later RFK Jr and his fans dredging up the same nonsense Such a tiresome waste of time
