Based rollup is the answer to the need for asset-app unification. A Based Orderbook can achieve bridgeless collateralization and more: It delivers the fastest bridging possible with unified sequencing across L1 & L2 and real-time settlement, the key to the “bridgeless” UX. Its synchronous composability with L1 enables atomic cross-domain bundles, so users can trade and rebalance L1 portfolios using the lightning-fast orderbook on L2 without taking leg risk. It will feel like using ONE chain. Based Orderbook becomes far more powerful when paired with an L1 lending protocol that acts as the portfolio margin engine: Traders borrow stablecoins against any L1 asset or DeFi position and use those stables to trade on the based orderbook. The separation of L1 and L2 liquidation isolates exotic collateral risk from the orderbook, enabling virtually ANY L1 asset serve as derivatives collateral without blowing up the DEX. In the next article we will talk about how to further increase capital efficiency with this primitive beyond any existing offerings, including CEXs.
