I feel like 2 years ago I completely agreed, and my high-level argument was something like "infrastructure is public goods, the incentive to fund public goods is N times smaller than optimal (that's basic econ 101), so it's practically impossible for there to be too much infrastructure". The problem though is that "infrastructure" is a diverse category, and some infrastructure is public goods while other infrastructure is realistically a zero-sum network effect grabbing game. Today, it feels like some categories of infrastructure are way over-invested, and others are still very under-loved. Examples of under-loved infra: * ENS names on L2 with decentralized verification (ie. merkle proofs into state) via CCIP * Proof-of-personhood and proof of community membership (gitcoin passport is good, but with more effort we can greatly improve the UX of this category) * More secure software supply chains for dapps * A fully decentralized (and no "governance token") instant cross-L2 token transfer protocol * Institutional guardians for social recovery and multisig wallets * Association set providers for privacy pools * ZK voting including the collusion resistant variety (MACI is good, but with more effort we can greatly improve efficiency and cut operator and user costs in this category, and further improve trust properties) * Standardized on-chain-readable decryption keys (for both EOAs and smart contract wallets) - ideally in a form which is backwards-compatible with people's existing PGP keys
