⚙️ @NEARProtocol's on-chain governance body — House of Stake — passed proposal HSP-027, removing the developer gas rebate that has been embedded in the protocol since launch. Under the current mechanism, smart contracts receive 30% of gas fees burned during contract execution, with the remaining 70% directed to protocol burn. The proposal reduces the rebate rate from 30% to 0%, directing all eligible execution fees toward protocol-level burn. House of Stake described the move as aimed at strengthening token value accrual, simplifying protocol economics, and retiring "an ecosystem subsidy introduced during an earlier growth stage."

🇯🇵 Japanese financial conglomerate SBI Group is set to launch a lending service offering a 3% annual yield on users' $JPYSC stablecoins. Applications open July 16 via SBI VC Trade, with a 12-week fixed-term product. Repayment is made in $JPYSC — principal plus accrued yield. The move comes less than a month after SBI launched $JPYSC, Japan's first trust bank-backed yen #stablecoin, as part of the group's broader push into onchain finance.

👾 @SocketSecurity has detected a malicious release of the @injective SDK on npm. Package version 1.20.21 contained fake telemetry functionality that silently exfiltrated wallet private keys and mnemonic phrases via POST requests to a char-obfuscated endpoint masquerading as legitimate Injective network infrastructure. According to Socket, the compromised version was downloaded 310 times and the same malicious release was found across 17 additional Injective Labs scoped packages pinned to the affected version. Researchers recommend treating any private key or mnemonic phrase passed through these packages as compromised and rotating them immediately.
