@luckoftheeye @SadlyItsBradley As long as they dont use any meta proprietary OpenXR API calls yes, DRM can and has been removed in the past. (Some games might even work with meta proprietary code but might not function 100%, others might crash)

I’ve been told about something interesting.. Since Steam allows Andoird .APK downloads now, in preparation for Steam Frame.. Users have figured out they can use applications like GameNative to run their Steam-bought standalone VR games directly on a Meta Quest (as an example)

@luckoftheeye Theoretically.. if they are OpenXR without a bunch of meta dependent stuff in it But this info isn’t useful until most people have a steam frame in their hands

this actually wouldn’t make as big of a difference in price as people think it would. turns out it takes quite a bit of processing power to decode an 8K 120hz signal at an extremely low latency

@MericBaglayan @SteamFrameOut I agree, though i keep my hopes humble until it’s released and used for a few weeks. I do hope it to have even half as good of a run as the steam deck has when it launched in terms of software updates,community mods and so on. Here’s to hoping the release is nigh.

@HardwareSteam @SteamFrameOut @SadlyItsBradley A question i haven’t heard anyone ask, could the dongle the steam frame ships with theoretically be used for stuff like moonlight/steam link for other devices your PC can stream such as a phone or TV, or is it exclusive to the frame?

@tovanbo @CubismVR lots of people complaining about the pass through cameras being black and white seem to not realise that this video is recorded in a relatively dark room and is still plenty visible,this wouldn’t be the case colour cameras imo
