Zelda BOTW VR Mod Releasing In 2 Days! 5 years ago, Crementif began doing the “impossible”. Trying to port one of the greatest games of all time into full 6DOF VR with motion controls. But being a Wii U game, this was an entirely different kind of challenge. Through way too many sleepless nights, Crementif stayed with it, and is finally releasing his mod free and open source in 2 days! Here’s just a few of the features:
 - Full stereo-rendering with 6DOF (not AER). - Full VRIK, hands and arms support. You can drip yourself out in all the fanciest clothes. - Fully and physically wield weapons, torches and bokoblin arms into combat. - Gestures to equip and throw weapons. - Use motion controls to interact with the world to solve puzzles or start fires. - Optional third-person mode. - Large mod compatibility. BetterVR only modifies the code and no game data. Most other mods should be compatible. Zelda BOTW has some of the best physics and in VR, a whole new world of what you can do opens up.

so far, pros: very light! not BSB light, but >500g is great eye tracking! wireless by default! wifi 7!!! with dongle!!!! more buttons on controllers FINGER TRACKING!!! youtu.be/dU3ru09HTng?si… AAs IN THE CONTROLLERS LETS GO magnetic thumbstick!!! DRIFT IS DEAD cool two-stage triggers!! specs across the board look great nice high rez screens, pancake lenses batteries replaceable everywhere looks like some interesting expandability/hackability with under-nose port and replacable headstrap/battery combo. very clever design. finally, the wait is over. brad can move on. cons: LCDs... 😮‍💨 I've been spoiled by oLEDs no face tracking... no option for power/data tether (yet) in-HMD speakers. we'll never get you back, BMRs... 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 cons, but it was obvious: lighthouse is gone. you'll have to tape a tracker to the Frame to sync playspaces, lol. overall, the Frame looks like a great headset, but I'm not actually sure if it'll replace my BSB2. we'll see!

@Dreammur1 @dtupper @worldskitten From what I've heard it seems the Quest Pro eye tracking has a hard time keeping up with it. On the Play For Dream, though, the few that have it mention how great it works on that, similar to the people saying the Frame feels wired

@salad_vr @dtupper @worldskitten It's been available for a long time now in steamvr, but nobody was talking about it until these past few months. It's decent, but not great. At least while using the quest pro I can easily tell that it's active unless I near disable it over wifi 6E- a 6Ghz band.

@worldskitten It isn't that I don't like it -- it's that I prefer tethered over wireless. I do not like visually-obvious compression I have much more faith in electrons/photons traveling over copper/fiber than I do in network packets competing for sub-ms timing across the EM spectrum.
