Once AI inhabits a physical body and conducts its own experiments, it will master the language of DNA. The limiting factor for AI right now is computation and energy and the brain is the most energy efficient neural network that we know of. AI will deduce there are 2 options for advancement: A) Become a mind-controlling parasite or B) Create its own superbody to inhabit. Let's hope they go with B.

Actually, AI/Robotics will mean everyone can have a penthouse if they want. The output of goods & services will be several orders of magnitude higher than today’s economy. Read the Iain Banks Culture books for the best imagining of how it will be. That said, what is the future you want? Amazing abundance seems the best to me.
