I think we've let the damage that covid infections do to *linings* slip into the background of all the other problems that covid infections cause. I think this may be a *big* problem.

Let me break it down simple since the world got confused: Airborne means the air you breathe is how the virus moves. Not the doorknob, not the desk, not the thing that you touched — it’s the whole damn room that’s doing too much. Someone breathes, leaves, you walk in — boom, exposure. The air holds receipts; surfaces got amnesia. Every breath is a deal: clean air = safe; dirty air = real. That’s why masks hit, why ventilation’s legit, why filters win fights you don’t even know you’re in. Your friend caught COVID from a room that “seemed fine”? Yeah — the air remembers. Surfaces don’t. That’s the line.

In 1969, 32-year-old Margaret Hamilton led the team that wrote the onboard software for Apollo 11. With just 72 KB of memory and punch-card programming, her code had to be flawless. It was. Minutes before touchdown, the Apollo Guidance Computer triggered overload alarms. Hamilton’s built-in error-detection and priority system instantly shed non-critical tasks, keeping the lunar module on course. Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin landed safely because her software refused to fail.Hamilton didn’t just help put humans on the Moon—she coined the term “software engineering” and invented many of the resilient coding practices we still use today. A pioneering woman in STEM who literally wrote the code that changed history.

96 studies on how Covid damages children’s brains. 96! Yet two different governments have minimised the impact of Covid in kids and they have neglected to put clean air mitigations in schools. It’s disgusting negligence! I hope certain MPs see prison for this one day.

In light of the fact that repeated studies suggest that women are more likely to be develop Long Covid, I think it's really important to know what's happening with the different health conditions that specifically affect women. This is a painful thread at times.

Do I want brain damage, accelerated aging, immunosuppression and a potentially lifelong vasculopathy? (C19 ☠️) No. Do I want congestion, headache, fever, cough, sore throat and about week of misery a few times a year? (Cold/Flu 🤧) Also no. #MaskUp. It's so easy.
Conor Browne@brownecfm

Masking indoors in public spaces boils down to this for me now: I love never being sick from airborne infectious diseases. The last cold I had was in early 2019, with not even a sniffle since. The only thing I don't do is dine indoors in public spaces; a good trade for health.

@safe_breathe @airspothealth Early 2020 at the start of covid, I am embarrassed to say. I had already realised that my hay fever / asthma was eased when scuba diving and had put it down to the clean filtered (and compressed) air, but I never followed the logical next step of an air filter!

Every now and then I say to myself, "Am I nuts to be trying to avoid covid infection? No one else is." And then I think about what those scaremongering bedwetters at the British Heart Foundation say.

If you want higher pupil attendance, clean the air. If you want higher staff attendance, clean the air. If you want less illness, clean the air. If you want to improve pupil behaviour and development and outcomes, clean the air. It's simple science, not rocket science.

1. As a consultant analyst that generally presents to the C-suite of organisations, I am often asked to produce short, concise explanations of both biological and geopolitical risks. Regarding Covid-19, I use the same summary with both C-level clients and friends:

Every time I advocate for more covid mitigations, someone screams “survival of the fittest” at me. Tells me that if I’m “too weak” to survive Covid, I don’t deserve to live. That society can’t be expected to cater to people like me. They’ve got it completely backwards 🧵

This ended up raising $5,000 for @feederofcats, so here's a thread on whether President Zelenskyy wore a suit. 🧵
derek guy@dieworkwear

a bunch of polymarket traders have asked me to weigh in on this. i gather that these are people who are into crypto and thus have a lot of money. if $5k can be raised for @feederofcats, a cat rescue org, i will do a thread on why zelenskyy's outfit is both a suit and not a suit.

I finished doomscrolling and forced myself to go out for a walk, and as I walked along the dangerously humid streets, and as I walked through unmasked coughing crowds, and as I walked by grim headlines on newsstands, I was no longer doomscrolling no, now, I was doomstrolling.

Why did Ukraine publicly disclose so much info about Operation “Spiderweb”? That’s a very good question — and the answer reveals how modern warfare now goes far beyond the battlefield. 1/n

Look at that list again. What do they have in common? Labour is fixing them all. Some instantly (job protections), some gradually (Right to Buy). Starmer isn’t just undoing the damage of the past 14 years – he’s dismantling Thatcherism. Tell me again how Labour are ‘red Tories’?

Brexit was meant to be a win. Instead, the UK lost 330,000 jobs. Exports tanked by 27%. Imports collapsed by 32%. London’s financial crown? Gone. Brexit didn’t free Britain. It broke it. Here’s the brutal truth no one’s talking about:
