McS knew how to win + was central to rebuilding Labour after hammering in 2019 - who knows now? 3. Losing a vital ally like this was one of Starmer's last plays to hold critics at bay - his exit shows how deep the problems are 4. Don't underestimate the disruption of changes like this, especially when a govt is already struggling Starmer's critics in the PLP have a scalp, so what now?
