@meovvgumi that's a fair point, i wasn't saying narusasu is superior in every way but rather in magnitude regarding its series. even them marrying different people is still soft reinforcement of the closeted/forbidden love between the two (mostly on sasuke's part since he DOESN'T care)

@blkxone @meovvgumi that is true, ultear's crazy powerful but it's sad actual saint wizards (with the exception of jellal) got powercrept to hell. altho i don't mind it since it was never implied that they were scaled/determined solely off their strength and the powercreep's part of a wider issue

jujutsu kaisen is blatantly anti conservative. the traditionalist higher-ups are painted negatively and are antagonists later killed by a main character who is explicitly anti-conservative

@husu_rat You're absolutely right that she told Erza, I suppose I was putting more weight on Kagura/Milliana since she only told them out of self-deprecation rather than genuine concern bc she was having an intense mental episode. But yeah she can't control whether or not they believe her

@lukastace she told Erza and her team when they met in the forest + she did tell Millianna she was at fault and I like to believe that a mage as powerful as Ultear also knew that Kagura was listening... if they're not convinced that's on them for refusing the truth, ig she thinks like that

i don't think Ultear was a good mother, and i don't think she was a good friend either. don't get me wrong, she /LOVES/ Meredy and Jellal, but she wasn't equipped to deal with that feeling. the way she loves people is not healthy, she'd kill for them and do whatever to help them+

@meovvgumi As for post ToH (like him learning Mystogan's magic in like a week), once again, same principle but in the opposite direction. Getting a seat on the council + becoming a saint wizard as a teenager it checks out that both him and Ultear were incredibly knowledgeable for their ends

@husu_rat interpretation that reinforces the vague idea I had that she unfortunately focuses on the bigger picture ("actions" as CS's leader > words). Still pretty iffy on the morality of her taking Jellal into a guild by sinners for sinners but I always thought she had phenomenal writing-

Do people actually point to Jellal to justify others' actions? The whataboutism on that has to be crazy especially since Jellal's quite literally the only character in the series who NEVER HAD A CHOICE in his actions, the story's very consistent in the fact that he's a-

ppl always bringing up jellal to justify their fave character’s dubious actions like he didn’t do jail time and spend nearly a decade punishing himself for his actions. he is one of the best developed characters and has the best written redemption arc in ft. they are not the same
