Auf dem Platz der Republik fand zum Abschluss der Aktion eine Kundgebung statt. Spontan kamen weitere Menschen hinzu. Der Konvoi war am Morgen in Emden zunächst mit 25 Fahrzeugen gestartet, wie die Polizei Osnabrück mitteilte. Im Verlauf der Fahrt wuchs er dann deutlich an: Bis zur Landesgrenze bei Wolfsburg seien bereits 82 Fahrzeuge beteiligt gewesen. Die Kolonne, die nicht auf der Autobahn fahren durfte, habe zeitweise eine Länge von rund 2,5 Kilometern erreicht. Die Polizei begleitete den Konvoi durchgehend mit Streifenwagen und Motorrädern. Organisator Sebastian Bormann aus Emden, ein Unternehmer für Hausmeister-Service, hatte über soziale Netzwerke zu dem Protest aufgerufen. Die Videos wurden seinen Angaben zufolge hunderttausendfach geklickt.
