@slimsmittycards @BConn63 @Feehan_BBball @WBboysbball Honorable mention is all I’m looking for. Wareham made everybody look bad, heck of a team that should probably be playing in a higher division. Wareham beat Feehan by 18 at the end of the season. If that’s the only WB game you saw, that’s a shame…it was a fun season to watch.

SPECIAL NOTE: This write-up on the game on March 10, 2026, was delayed due to a special factor. West Bridgewater News Sports was unable to attend the Final 4 game between West Bridgewater and Wareham and relied on NFHS Network which covers game livestreams for all Final 4 boys and girl’s games as well as the championship finals per an agreement with the MIAA. However, West Bridgewater’s first Final 4 game since the MIAA started in 1978 was unable to be shown. The entire game had technical difficulties with a sign across the screen stating Thank you for your patience technical issues. This was unfortunate as it was the only game in the entire tournament for both the boys and girls high school basketball MIAA tournament had this issue happen to. Due to the issues this game could not be corrected afterwards and will not be available on demand to watch on the NFHS Network. However, on a positive note, the wonderful team of the West Bridgewater Community Access TV Cable were there. They did not live stream the game when it was live for viewers to watch when the game was happening due to the NFHS agreement with the MIAA, but they did record the game as a backup and are currently working on getting the game put on demand soon on their You Tube channel to watch on demand at any time for free. Mike Morgan 🏘🎧🦅
Mike Morgan 🏘🎧🦅@DJMikeMorgan·
This is my friend Jamie. To Boston radio DJ’s, he’s better known as “Jamie Minton from Milton”. For those not in radio, this story may get lost on you, but for those in radio who have received a letter or call from Jamie, you will get it. I 1st learned of Jamie back in 1996 when I was an intern for Baltazar & Pebbles at JAM’N 94.5. Without fail, there would be a letter in every DJ’s mailbox almost daily from Jamie and they would all be the same. He would want us to say hi to all of the pretty girls who didn’t have boyfriends and would ask for CD’s, key chains and other radio swag. Over the past 30 years, I’ve got to know Jamie well. I’ve been to the special group home he lives in for Halloween parties. I’ve had him be my guest at concerts. I’ve been to his grandfathers funeral. I’ve always had a soft spot for Jamie. Without getting into the weeds, Jamie is a unique and special soul. He has worked at Stop & Shop in Quincy for over 25 years. He goes to a day program each day and has many friends there. He has volunteered at a hospital on his day off to deliver books and magazines to patients. He is a year round athlete in the Special Olympics. He is always doing something. His family circle has shrunk over the years. His mother, who early on was so nice to me and brought Jamie to many radio events had passed away many years ago. Before she passed, she wrote me a nice letter thanking me and many others in Boston radio for being so kind to her son and it gave her peace knowing there were kind people out there who cared for her son. Fast forward to today. Jamie had asked me a few weeks go to come to Mix when I was on-air do a tour as he has never been there. Of course I said yes and his cousin Melissa reached out to me to work the details out. He would also be bringing his friend Sandy from his day program along. Jamie came in today with the biggest smile as always on his face. He was proud an excited to introduce me to his cousin and his friend. Gave me a big hug at the door. He came down to the studio and was in awe to see it. To see where Karson, Kennedy, Dan, Gregg, Freddy, Andrea sit. He wanted to see the “Can’t Beat Kennedy” board is. He must have taken 100 pictures today! It made me realize a few things. 1, the amazing power of radio and being live & local. The bonds made with listeners. The company we as on-air personalities provide listeners in their day. Maybe we make them forget about the stress they face. The traffic they are in. The crappy job they go to. The personal problems they face. For Jamie, he loves every single radio station and every single on-air personality in Boston and has for 30 years. Whether they are not on the air any longer, are new to radio or have been around a long time, he remembers you and loves you. This is a guy who has every reason in the world to not be happy with the cards hes been dealt in life. Jamie doesn’t know how to be unhappy. He wakes up each day, puts the radio on, makes calls to the various request lines, writes his letters, goes to his day program, works his job at Stop & Shop, has various activities he participates in and does it all with a smile. He lives his life with a smile and is a kind, thoughtful, caring, hard working human. No matter the situation, he just smiles and always tells you that he loves you. So in the video I posted, he mentions many Boston DJ’s. He knows he left many out and as he was leaving he felt bad he left so many names out. To those who he didn’t mention, trust me. He said your name today and loves you. It was in the minute and he was under the gun and just excited. While we are competitors, this video doesn’t matter. We all have had an impact in Jamie’s life simply by saying hi to him. Answering his calls. Reading his letters. Giving him tours of the studios. Being his friend. For that, I say thank you to all of you and great job! (Continued in comments)

WEST BRIDGEWATER BOYS’ VARSITY BASKETBALL: 2024/2025 SEASON RECAP. The West Bridgewater Wildcats boys’ varsity basketball team finished the 2024/2025 season with a 7-13 record in Division 4 in the South Coast Conference under first year head coach Mike Jones. The record did not define this team or the season as they were better than the result record wise. West Bridgewater had a tough above average schedule as they played and lost twice to Bourne who was the # 2 ranked team in the state of Massachusetts in Division 4 and made it to the final 4 in the MIAA tournament. The Wildcats also played and lost twice to Old Rochester who made it to the MIAA Division 3 final championship game and almost won and West Bridgewater also played and lost to Somerset Berkley who finished the season 24-1 while destroying the competition in the Division 2 MIAA tournament in route to winning and being crowned as state champions. 8 of the teams’ 13 losses came from opponents who were not only larger schools but in Division 3 or higher. West Bridgewater started the season on fire beating Blue Hills 79-58 with 3 players scoring in double figures – Jag Garces (19), Armani Lloret (16) and Lamar Valentina Jr. (10). It was also the most points the team ended up scoring in a game all season. The following game they continued to heat up with a 77-60 win against Seekonk that again saw 3 players scoring in double figures – Jag Garces (19), Armani Lloret (13) and Ben Stapleton (13) as well as a highlight 3 pointer made by Brendan Hulme. The Wildcats then cooled off and faced 5 stellar teams in a row that all made the MIAA tournament in Bourne, Holbrook, Fairhaven, Old Rochester and Apponequet that caused the 5-game skid. However, the Wildcats bounced back winning 4 of their next 6 games with wins against Joseph Case, Fairhaven, Seekonk and Joseph Case again. The only 2 losses during that stretch were against state champion Somerset Berkley and Final 4 MIAA team Bourne. West Bridgewater then went on another skid losing their next 6 games against tough as well as improved teams as the season went along in Holbrook, East Bridgewater (Division 3), Dighton-Rehoboth (Division 3), Blue Hills, Greater New Bedford (Division 3) and Old Rochester (Division 3). The Wildcats ended that streak by an impressive and united regular season ending game win against rival East Bridgewater 58-49 that had 4 West Bridgewater team members not play, all of whom were starters or impact players in Henry Sainrisme, Lamar Valentina Jr., J.J. Maclean and Quincee Huggins. The Wildcat’s win was capitalized by 3 players hitting double digits in points including a season and career high in points from Nick Navin (18). Jag Garces netted 14 and Ben Stapleton had 12. The three most exciting games of the season were games that all came down to the last minute or seconds until the winner was decided. After losing against Division 3 Fairhaven on January 3, 2025, by 11 points, the Wildcats came back and won the second match 51-50 in a thriller on January 17, 2025. In a back-and-forth game West Bridgewater held a 2-point lead after the first quarter then Fairhaven held a 2-point lead at halftime. In the last seconds of the third quarter Nick Navin sank 2 three-pointers to put West Bridgewater up by 1 to close the quarter. With West Bridgewater up 50-45 late in the 4th quarter Fairhaven came back to tie the game at 50 until Armani Lloret was fouled and made a free throw to win the game for the Wildcats. Jag Garces had a great overall game and led the team in scoring with 20 points. West Bridgewater won 76-74 against Seekonk in another thriller at Seekonk High School on January 24, 2025. Down 74-73 with 10 seconds left in the game, Freshman J. J. MacLean 12 points (four 3-pointers all in the 4th quarter) hit a 3-pointer to give West Bridgewater the lead 76-74 and the win. Lamar Valentina Jr. had a double/double with season highs 16 points and 14 rebounds. Armani Lloret also had a double/double with 14 points and 10 assists. Jag Garces also scored in double figures with 16 points all in the first half for the West Bridgewater Wildcats. Although West Bridgewater lost 61-59 to East Bridgewater on February 5, 2025, it had everything you could ask for in Wildcat pride. The Wildcats of West Bridgewater, with 3:25 left in the game down by 10 at 59-49 saw a brilliant move by Coach Mike Jones who elected to go with a smaller speedy lineup with high energy defense as well as shifty and tough offense with Armani Lloret and Quincee Huggins. During the last 3:25 saw West Bridgewater score 10 points and only allow East Bridgewater to score 2 on foul shots. The Wildcats began to claw back with Jag Garces, who may be one of the best physical gritty players in the league and who had a standout game fighting for rebounds, paving paths for drives to the basket, hustling and diving to the floor for any loose ball that came near him. Jag connected on a tough 2-point basket and then made a foul shot to cut the lead to 59-55 with 2 minutes left in the game. Then with 1 minute left Armani Lloret blazed past the Vikings defenders for a bucket to make it 59-57. The Wildcats, who played exceptionally strong in the final quarter, were forced to foul East Bridgewater to have more time on the clock and they made 1 of 2 shots to make it a 3-point game at 60-57. The Wildcats Armani Lloret once again utilized his speed and shiftiness to score another successful bucket to make it only a 1-point game with 8 seconds left at 60-59. West Bridgewater then fouled East Bridgewater who once again hit 1 or 2 free throws to make it 61-59. Then with 2 seconds left in the game and a full court length to go the Wildcats still had hope to get a shot off to tie or win the game. Ben Stapleton made a great quick shift move to pass to an open Armani Lloret who heaved in a shot from well beyond half court before the buzzer sounded which went inside the rim and circled around but then popped out for an East Bridgewater win, but a game almost won on a miracle shot. First year head coach Mike Jones did an admiral job leading the young Wildcats. Coach Jones brought a new level of experience, professionalism, knowledge, learning and education to the team that was needed. With West Bridgewater returning many players next season and several excellent junior varsity prospects ready to step up the future as well as unity is bright with lots of success on the horizon for Coach Mike Jones and his team. Individual Team Player Season Highlight Games: Jag Garces – A first team South Coast Conference All-Star selection and Sportsmanship winner for the 2024/2025 season, Jag was a natural leader on the court with his play, actions and supporting his teammates. Generations of American patriots, from our revolution onward, have fought for the principles Zelenskyy is risking his life to defend. But today, Donald Trump and JD Vance attacked Zelenskyy and pressured him to surrender the freedom of his people to the KGB war criminal who invaded Ukraine. History will remember this day— when an American President and Vice President abandoned all we stand for.

Wow, Vance and Trump are attacking Zelenskyy in the Oval Office
