USA HIGH SCHOOL VARSITY SOFTBALL RECORD – SEVENTH GRADER: Regan Bryant – West Bridgewater, Massachusetts Seventh Grader, Regan Bryant, a varsity pitcher at West Bridgewater Middle-Senior High School in West Bridgewater, MA set a USA High School Varsity Team Softball Record during the 2025 season. Regan is the first documented USA record setter specifically as a seventh grader on a varsity high school softball team to achieve 20 strikeouts in a regular 7 inning game. Regan accomplished this feat during the regular season against Bourne High School on April 10, 2025. Regan Bryant got 20 of the team’s first 20 outs by strikeout. She had a chance to get 21 out of 21 outs by strikeout but, the 21st out of the game was called due to a runner for Bourne on base left early for the final out. In that same game Regan Bryant also had the team’s winning hit and RBI on offense to win the game in the bottom of the seventh inning on a double. A seventh grader on a varsity team who throws 20 strikeouts and wins the game at bat on offense with the winning hit in a regular 7 inning game is also unheard of especially in the modern era and a rare feat on any high school grade level for both to happen. Regan Bryant also plays club softball during the offseason with South Shore Chaos based out of East Bridgewater, MA. Regan plays on team 2025 Chaos – Bryant 12U. Regan’s club team assisted by Coach Kristin Bryant recently won the 2025 Massachusetts USA Softball State Tournament on May 18, 2025. The team won all 7 games and Regan pitched a no-hitter in one of those wins. Regan helped her team make it to the championship game with a win against Hudson Demolition – Devoe 12U by striking out 9 batters in the circle and at bat on offense had 3 hits and 3 RBIs. In the championship game against Taunton Tornadoes – Buffington 12U with the score tied, Regan had a single that helped produce the leading run. Photo Credit: Richard S.
